Now that we have had the first snow fall of this winter, the council is sure ( budget cuts allowing) to start spraying salt/grit all over the road. I managed to get a set of cast alumin ium (note the correct spelling!!! ) wheels from ebay that I plan to use over the winter. Does anyone know if the spacers / speedo connection from the spoked ones are different? I presume the spockets and brake discs will fit both.

I changed from spokes to alloys and everything swapped over no problem. Discs, speedo, hub/sprocket etc.

The salt and grit will leave a serious impression on those wheels... but I'm guessing that doesn't matter?

No, they were bought with the sole purpose of saving the spoked ones from (further) damage.
Thanks to all that answered!

Shaun, one of the alternator cover bolts is a through bolt. It's one the lower ones near the front, but I don't remembere the exact one. You should be able to feel the backside and tell which it is.
The salt can wick into the bolt hole from back, causing the bolt to seize up. (Been there...) A little never seize or grease is a good idea on that one.
