NEVER EVER click on one. I accidentally clicked on a heavy duty clothing company's (Car***t)t ad two weeks ago and have seen NOTHING else but their ads every since. I swear it was easier to ignore it when it rotated. So forgive me but I have to try something... OIL, OIL, OIL, OIL, OIL TIRES,TIRES, TIRES, TIRES, TIRES INSURANCE, INSURANCE, INSURANCE, INSURANCE HONDA, HONDA, HONDA, HONDA HARLEY, HARLEY, HARLEY, HARLEY

I clicked on it before... now I rarely see it. I've been seeing the one for cafepress lately, with the calendars Whitt makes and a few other items.

Well, I keep coming back to this post, and randomly clicking on others and I am indeed starting to see some other stuff. Their ad is heavy (web wise) and slows down the page load a bit too.

Clear your cookies.
The banner shows you ads related to recent searches or websites you have visited. I was looking for a new car, so I often see an ad for a local dealership up there. I was shopping for some clothes onliine, so I also see a Jos Banks ad up there alot.
Clear you cookies, and the banner no longer "knows" where you have been.
Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

Same here. But for those of you getting ads, type in TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH, TRIUMPH.
That way you might get ads for lingerie and bikes!!

I see them in some forums, but not in others. Fortunately I am not motivated enough to figure out the "wherefore and the why". And when did "trickeration" become part of the accepted vernacular anyway. Abject linguistic laziness , or in other words.....wish I'd thought it up ........... j h

Are you kidding? I STILL see banner ads for Rennai water heaters. I wish there was a button I could click that said, "OHFORCHRISSAKES I BOUGHT ONE ALREADY, LEAVE ME ALONE!" And thanks to Thom, I'm seeing Pepboys ads. I don't think there's a Pep Boys store within 500 miles.
