Well I imagine it will look a bit more refined than the one pictured above, but man... it's got to go a long way to get even close to being as beautiful as my '02 Trophy!!

Looks like this Trophy would have more of an upright riding postion than the Sprint.

So you have decided to keep it, Keith? I still kick around the idea of a Trophy... old or new.

No, she's still up for sale. I'll wait until Spring to do a selling blitz again. Meanwhile, she is a GREAT bike... just can't afford two (what was I thinking?)!

I'm interested but it would have to get way nicer looking. Still, it's very encouraging.

Does anyone recognize the plastic? I know it's supposed to be a new engine but I can't believe they'd develop a fairing for the test mules and change it much for production. So unless somebody can say "oh, yeah, that's a bmw xxx fairing (or whatever)" I would bet that's the target look. ick.

I agree, I hope for the tall riders that the bodywork is a test set up only. That dude only looks average height and he is sitting right on the back of the seat...

Only bikes I like made by Triumph are the BA, SM, Bonnie line (including Thruxton)and R3 line. The rest remind me of rice.

I hear ya Ian, I really do. But when you strap on a high performance bike like the Trophy or Sprint it really raises the bar to what's possible on a bike. That said, I wish to retire from the world of high performance riding before it's too late (I ended up turning my 'back yard' into a virtual Isle of Mann... not good)!

About time! The next purchase will be a Trophy or a BMW R1200RS.

Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Never give up my America as long as I can ride, but I am looking at touring bikes for longer distance travel. I'm hoping a replacement Trophy is in the works as I'd prefer to stick with Triumph over a BMW and like my service dealer.

Sprint is cool, but I have to have a more sit up riding position. The pics make the seating and leg room look a little tight.

I agree with the more upright riding position- thats why the Sprint isn't appealing. Love the America but the wind buffeting at hwy speeds gets old during the daily commute. A bigger engine, gas tank and full fairing would rock my world.

I agree with all you say about the the tiger..but most find the tiger way to tall for them...

and this new Trophy looks not as tall infact looks very comfy for long rides and for 2up looks even better..

My guess is that this new Trophy might just take a bigger bite out of BMW R1200RT, Yamaha FJR1300 and Kawasaki Concours 14 sales, as the biggest complaint from the purchasers of those machines about the earlier Triumph Sport Touring offerings was the lack of a shaft-drive from the boys at Hinckley, and now that complaint appears to have been rectified.

(...and my other guess is that the fairing shown in this spy photo will be slightly different and not as "slab-sided" on the production models)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Depending on final capacity and horses this baby will pump out, I wouldn't rule out the BMW K1300GT either.
If at the rumoured 1200cc, I would guestimate an output of 130-140 hp (i.e. smack in the middle between the RT and the GT).

Yep T-man! Good point.

And going by the price points of past Triumph and BMW offerings, I'll bet the britbike will cost thousands less than those Teutonic wonders too, and thus could maybe lead to much greater sales for the Triumph than the BMW...which could be yet another great British victory and retreat of the Germans...similar to the one at El Alamein in 1942!

(...and lemme guess...I'll bet in your many travels you've been there TOO, haven't you?!)

Trust you to come up with an appropriate reference point.

Yep, I've been there twice, once on a ride around the whole Mediterranean and once on a ride around Egypt.

How could I not? I can almost see El Alamein from my veranda (we'll if it wasn't for the island of Crete which is in the way ).

Talking of wars, a lot of Greeks fought and died alongside the British forces and are buried there.

From this site, Martyn from England, Johann (Gooseman) from Sweden and Lee (Birdy68), a Brit from Switzerland and I are currently contemplating a ride around the eastern Mediterranean countries for next November (to include Turkey, Syria, possibly Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Egypt).
I can see another visit (for me) to El Alamein on the horizon.
