I suspect there's not too many on here who've dug into their gearboxes, but if so does anybody know if the transmissions are interchangeable between 2002-2005? It seems as though 62k miles of torture has taken a toll on my trans, and it's much less expensive to buy used vs. new! i have mine apart and the parts that matter are worn up to or slightly past their service limits. I don't want to do this job again anytime soon. Strangely enough, the main (crankshaft) bearings and journals look almost new!
The trained eye will recognize that this fork has been rubbing a gear due to excess wear.(.01mm over spec!) That would explain the jumping in/out/in of 2nd gear under hard acceleration...

I thinks so man. Infact I am fairly convenced that all the way up to 2010 model is interchangeable.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
