I haven't had the stock battery bracket on my bike for about 7 years and I'm trying to figure out if I want to put it back on just so I can get one of these made with my bulldog avatar on it. Maybe I should ditch my current battery box for a brokenfixed one.

Hey John, why don't you inquire as to having Joe etch your icon onto the lens of your headlight?

Apparently the prices have been bumped up to $75.00 now, but still a great deal. Can hardly wait to receive mine!

Looks really good.

I reckon Bob should get some kinda award for these covers. They look so good in reality and each one is a work of art. I get comments on my one all the time.

Too bad we can't utilize that round piece of tin on the left lower engine cover to add a little personal bling, mine has the Triumph logo which is cool, but just thinking out loud.

Now, I've got to figure out how to keep her shiny looking. I know there is brass cleaner for indoor items but not sure about stuff that gets exposed to the weather. Any tried & proven suggestions? I might check at a marine center.

Use Solvol chrome polish and it works okay on brass. Then again I prefer it to look a bit aged and not shiny golden. The weathered look is cool but it eventually turns black.

The more I see the more I want one as well. I just don't know how the brass will look with the chrome and paint. Can someone post a pic of the whole bike, America preferably.

Not the best pic as I am not going to roll her out of the garage in the wet weather. But it should give you some idea. I haven't had a chance to polish/seal the brass yet.

By the way, back when I went down and seriously busted up my left shoulder, ankle and big toe, the insurer totaled my old bike but allowed me to have friends and family remove anything not stock from the bike including the Bubs. That is the Bub from that bike where I went down on the left. Close inspection, she won't win any beauty awards (there are scratches if you know where to look), but I'm impressed as to how well they've held up after all the abuse they went through.

Anyway, I hope this pic helps your decision making process. Bob is pretty easy to work with.

I was wondering how it would look on a blue and white. Now I just have to choose a design. Thanks for posting!

I picked up some Twinkle brass cleaner on eBay. Good stuff and price was not too bad ($6.99 + free shipping). You just wash the piece down in hot water, smear on the Twinkle (foam sponge included) and rub it around good, then rinse and dry. Supposedly, it will help inhibit future tarnish as well.

I'm pretty happy with it.

Those look really good with the pin striping on the tank. Any chance stainless would etch like that?

"Brasso" is not very good as it leaves a residue behind. I use "solvol" chrome polish and have had excellent results.
