I really like your bike Chuckyj.

When you painted the dash did you put any kind of clear coat or something just in case you got gas on it. I know a lot of folks have painted them, but I wondered what kept the paint from being eaten away by gasoline.

Thanks,

~Brent

That oil filler cap is such an whimsical touch. It's that kind of attention to detail that really sets one bike apart from another. Nice bike all around!!

Love all the blacked out bits. Are those wheels powdercoated? How is it holding up? What kind of mufflers are those? Thanks,
Dave

Yep the front is powder coated and it is holding up great. I want to do the back one but not this year to many other things happening. I have no idea what kind of mufflers they are I got them from chevy605 in trade for my stock pipes. They were something he had laying around the shop.

Nice work.. Oh, by the way if you would leave it parked inside at night no one would steal the rest of the muffler system. (o; V.

That fairing is going to look pretty good. I am curious on your rear lights though, what they are off and how they are wired? The back fender is my winter project this year and I like what you have there.

Is this the kit you bought for the run/brake/tail light set up?

http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail...Metric_Cruisers

Was there anything else needed?

How difficult was istallation?

Very sharp looking bike!

I am about to so some of the same to my '04 BA. Planning to paint the mirrors, front signals, speedo bucket, headlamp bucket (leaving the rings chrome) and etc, plus powdercoating the stator and clutch covers.

Any suggestions on how to best prep chrome parts to be painted black would be much appreciated, and thanks for posting those pics!

I hadn't thought about powder coating the bag supports - great idea! love the bike. I'll be really interested to see the fairing when it's done. I bet that'll look awesome!

I love the "no tail light" look. Can you share how this is wired and any modifications you needed to do to use the turn signals as running, stop, AND turn signals?

Looking forward to see the modifications. Flickr allows one up to 1000 photos you can link before they charge Photobucket is a dead issue.

BTW glad to see you back on the board.

Thanks it is good to be back, I have high hopes of a bunch of performance stuff that I have wanted to do since new so we will see what happens.

I have a complete spare bike so doing things like big bore, cam regrind and heads are a little easier because I have no down time while doing it.
