 Lowering the front end?

Hello all,
I just wanted to ask some opinions about lowering the forks, like has anyone got examples of their experiences? lower springs or raise forks in the triple trees?
I have just installed 1-inch lower Ikon shocks and thought it "may" be good to level the bike out at the lower height....

I don't personally, but I've seen Jaymo's bike, check out his gallery for pics. He loves it. Maybe he'll chime in.

I lowered the forks on my Thunderbird by 3/4" by just raising them in the triple trees. Quickens the handling nicely and is easy and FREE.
It would be a good idea to lower the forks if you've lowered the back end, as you've effectively slowed the handling of an already very stable bike.
Why not try raising the tubes - it'll cost you nothing and if you like it you can then decide to spend the time/money on cutting down the spacers or buying a full lowering kit (Progressive).

I lowered the rear with the Progressive 412's 2 inch drop. I wanted lower so I had my stock shocks cut down 3 inches. I then bought the progressive lowering springs for the front. Put them in and it sits nice and low. It also got rid of most of the brake drive of the front end with the shorter, stiffer springs.

Cool, thanks for the advice.
I will lower them in the trees and try that out, but the progressive springs sound good if they stop the front end dive.
If I go for the progressive option, do you order them by asking for TBA 1-inch lower springs... or do you have to know the diameter/length/ rate of the spring you require?

I just asked my Triumph dealer to get me the Progressive lowering kit for the Speedy. I'm in South America at the moment and no where close to my bike stuff so I can't give you the part number. But you can look it up on the Progressive web site.

Runner, the part numbers are: Progressive, front #10-1564. Progressive, rear #412-4254C. I will be doing mine as soon as my manual arrives, as the included instructions are not enought information to remove,disassemble,and replace your frontend, as required to install the front fork lower kit. Is the manual for TBA a Triumph branded book (ordered through Triumph dealer) or ?

Actually the Progressive front-end lowering kit is from a Kawasaki. Its the same part for Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter years 1999-2004. You could probably order them from a Kawy dealer.

Would anyone have numbers for 440's 11 1/2" to match my 1" drop that I will attempt for the front.
