Moe: Are those Jumbo or LG Saddleman bags? After 40k, my Large bags are staring to show some wear, time for a replacement. The LG just barely fits my jacket with pads, I'm thinking it would be nice to have a little more room.
Great collection of shots!

My (our) 2 2005 Americas are still in one piece. I'm learning that they are quite expensive to keep up. Kimmy's needs a battery and oil change, (over $100), and mine needs a new chain I guess, as it flops wildly when on the jack and in gear...Just changed oil in mine yesterday...$57...but well worth it. And my '72 Bonny is still awaiting a top end gasket set, and to have the amals sent out to be re-sleeved, another couple of hundred..Guess ya gotta pay to play...

$57.00 oil change? are you kidding or was that for both bikes? I got to where i didnt wnat to pay for the syn with the price it is. so i went to semi syn and cant tell a differance,, except in the wallet. did you do it your self? Is your chain at its full travle? maybe its just that i haven abused mine enough (in a good way)but i keep it lubed and about 3 times a year i adjust / check tension. I use a cheap pair of calipers to make sure left and right are equal. I know you do a ton of riding, so it may be time, I bought the AGM battery from Brent. its a great investment.

Ah the BRP. Jane and I just got back yesterday from a road-trip in the cage. Ended up an Skyline Drive on the way home. Sure is nice and pretty down south now. Big difference from back home.
Oh, should I show off my two Triumphs too? Actually we are up to 4 bikes now. Trophy, Speedy, Janes Magna and an old CL350.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

But they are so easy to buy under 4k with low miles. He has about 12 grand in bikes sitting there worth a million in fun riding experiences. Why not?

John, I did buy a different model, sort of. It is my first 865. And my first 'America'. Third like model? Sure! My first two have been good to me (Otis Redding). Vera Lynn and Cinnamon Girl have 94k and 82k miles respectively. And I wanted a low mileage America that had tank indents before time slipped away. Not too sure about the beauty of these wagon wheels on the 07. Yet they are repairable while trekking. I guess you could say I like the line of colonial cruisers Triumph introduced in 2001. Simple to work on, straightforward maintenance and Continental performance. Most importantly: affordable! Best bang for the buck. Some day I'll break away from the twins and Triumph in general and reach for the one delusion that borders on reality: the fabled Gold Wing.

Ron, 12 grand in bikes is a bit optimistic. Having a million in fun riding experiences is spot on!

"Colonial Cruisers". Ya know Jim, I don't think I've ever heard or read that line before, but I gotta say I like it! And yeah, while I know you're a "spoked wheel" kinda guy, your point about the "wagon wheels" being repairable(tire-wise with only a plug) while out trekking is a good one. (...enjoy, ol' buddy!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have a couple of thoughts on that subject. We know that the '07 America is a bastardized speedmaster. Conical pipes, blacked out engine, alloy wheels. So, ahem, I guess the primal thought regarding a name is a violation of the AUP. Or at least would seem insulting if'n you didn't know me. Cher sang a song that plays in my mind when I think of what Triumph corporate has done to our beloved Americas. And I've yet to think of a tune that reflects my feelings on what corporate has only recently done to our colonial cruisers... I used to have a Pit that I named Btich. Well after calling for her in polite company one too many times, it occurred to me that a more moderate name would better suite both me and those within ear shot: Beth. Hum, where was I? A name. In the spirit of Triumphs triple heritage and being British, maybe Ozymandias. Oz for short. Or let's wait to read what Ryan has to suggest. As his suggestion helped name Cinnamon Girl. Ozymandias? Hamish Hamilton. The Tripods. omg: Turns out I bought the bike from a Mr. Hamilton too. Oz is my vagrant, that one day will carry me through the White Mountains. Damnit Paul. I don't know!

oh wow, just saw the name comment. How about "Custer"? The '07 is the tank indents last stand......
That one comes to mind first, though the vibes might be too negative. "Benedict Arnold" has more of a positive/negative thing going. Still a positive place in BA.com history but a traitor in several ways...
A proper female name is going to take more time.
