Try Costco brand kirkland Signiture rain gear for only $20.00. I rode this last weekend for 130 miles one way with their rain gear, a full face helmet, and water proof gloves from REI sporting goods. The rain was heavy for almost half the distance, the only problem I had was visablity while passing the big rigs. I also had goretex lined leather boots to keep my feet dry. The only leaks I had was a small amount at the helmet visor. Actually I had a blast riding in the down pour, after knowing the water was'nt soaking through. Also, the rain gear fit comfortable with out being baggy. Good Luck. Bob

I love my ugly Frogg Toggs - about $60 on ebay and my local YamaHondaKawaZuki dealer. I chose the orange ones to increase visibilty. Cage drivers don't seem to see me very well in the rain (that was a joke, son - they never seem to see me). FroggToggs also come in blue, grey and camo. The pro-fisherman is the model with bib overall pants, if you prefer - but another $15-$20.

I have the Triumph chevron suit (yellow) ~$100-$115. The only drawback, IMO is that a zipper runs from the collar to the ankle and getting at stuff in your pockets can be a hassle. I wish they would have reversed the zipper direction. A velcro strip protects the zipper from the elements, but if you don't pay attention to the crotch area, water can find a way inside. Other than that, they are excellent & I stay nice and dry. I have friends with frogg-toggs and they are very good. I would have got them but was hesitant to buy raingear on-line. I tried on the Triumph gear at the dealers and knew it fit.

I had Dri Rider jacket & pants and they were great for winter rideing, water proof and warm, not so good in the summer, still water proof but very hot. Now I wear Draggin Jeans & an RJays leather jacket in the dry with Moto Dri jacket and pants when it rains. They are water proof & very light & compact to cary on the bike.

I would do an internet search. Most of the Motorcycle parts sites have Tourmaster, etc. I've seen some as low as $37. You could go to to Wal-mart if you want an ugly yellow one for 10 bucks. I am going to get a two piece one for easy on and off.

I too have Frogg Toggs (Pro Action Suit) and love them. They work great and pack into a very small space. I got mine at 49. but the place I got mine from is now selling them for 52.95 including carry bag. http://www.qwks.com/xcart/catalog/Frogg_Toggs_PA102ProAction_Suit-p-1.html

I have a Joe Rocket set that works well, but an el-cheepo DryRider will do just as well.

Ask Snert about the walmart rain gear sometime, then ask his son how to dodge flying bits of raingear:)
I have a tourmaster 2 piece. Basic pull-up pants with suspenders, and the top is nice, velcro flap, real good wind protection. Good pockets. Etc. I think it was kinda cheap...

The Triumph suit here. Being in the land of perpetual rain I can state that it works well. Not cheap, but it works as advertised.

A warning to big fat guys like me. I tried Nelson Rigg rain gear the first time and their sizes run extremely low. Most of my clothes are 3XL and there was no way I was fitting into their 3XL rain gear.
By contrast, Harley 3XL rain gear fits great and I swim a bit in the 4XL Frogg Togg bibs.

Thanks for all the info and suggestions. I just ordered a Frogg toggs suit from Cabela's. I got a bunch of gift certificates and figured this was a good way to spend them. Thanks

The best thing about a rain suit is having it when you need it. No matter how good one is, if it's bulky - there are many times you won't take it. You'll be surprised how good the Frogg Toggs work AND they pack in a VERY small space.

Just remember, riding for weather you're prepared for is much better than riding for weather you're not.
Keep the gear in a tankbag or saddlebag but remember, protecting the bottom of a bag is not the real purpose of raingear.
If you're riding and wondering whether you should put your raingear on, answering yes and being wrong is ok. Answering no and being wrong gets you soaked.

Ditto Freedom's comment. AND his suit is quite yellow - looks kinda like a taxi cab on 2 legs
The velcro in the crotch area is very good at letting in very cold water. Inside pockets are a pain to get to. Visiting the restroom is tricky. Then there's the velcro wrestling match when you want to take the thing off. My main gripe, though, is the thing is really, really bulky.
Frogg Togs (sp?) sound like the ticket. Good reviews all around and store in a small space. Reportedly allergic to exhaust pipes.
Doubt that you can look like a taxi in one though. THAT could be a problem

The Triumph Chevron One Piece suit works as advertised. If a suit doesn't seal the hole under your helmet, you are going to get wet. The neck to ankle zippers make it easy to get in and out of, and the waterproof pockets allow you to empty your other pockets (if you remember to)and still keep things dry. It just about fills one saddlebag, but it's one thing I won't often leave behind. It is a nice bumbag it comes in for storage, so if you needed the space in the saddlebag you could always wear the suit in the bumbag around your waist.
It also has mucho reflective stripes - even the black one. YOU WILL BE SEEN!

Getting ready to purchase the Froggs (model PA102) and wonder if they easily touch the Triumph exhaust in a riding position? I suppose this is a problem for any rain suit.
