Looking at my front tire the other day, and noticed that I have a somewhat flat wear pattern on the left side of my tire, and the right half is wearing, but has a round profile. The flat band going around the tire is about an inch wide. When riding, if I remove my hands and let off the gas, I get some shimmy in the front end. I am planning to check my rear tire alignment when I put her away for the season (if the season actually ever ends here!), but am open to other suggestions. The wear area is about in the middle of the left side of the tread, so it seems kind of far off center to be an alignment issue, I certainly don't feel like I'm putting any countersteer in or anything when riding straight down the highway. When I had my wreck back in '04, I hit the car on the right fork, and that side was replaced as part of the repair. I would think if there were still any bend in the neck or something like that, the wear would be on that side, but again, it seems like I am holding my bars in a pretty straightforward direction. I'm also going to try and do the fork oil this winter, it's certainly time, and will buy a new tire for the spring. Thanks for any ideas.
