Tried out the new touring bike this weekend and took my lovely wife up to the top of the peak foliage (which is the Balsam overlook on the BRP in these parts at this time of year) 350 mile day, perfect weather and my best girl finally able to see some of the stuff that I have only seen without her.

The Route: From just outside Atlanta, U.S. 23 (I-985) north to just outside Sylva N.C. picked up the BRP and went out to the Inn at Mt. Pisgah then backtracked back to US 276 to Brevard, NC (Great road!) then U.S. 64 from Brevard to Highlands, N.C. finally N.C 106 (Dillard Road) back to U.S. 23 and home.

She took several hundred pictures, here are some of the ones I liked best. Especially the little dog tied to the Goldwing.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

H#lls yea those are great pics. I have trouble getting pics to load.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe

276 from Pisgah Forrest to the BRP along the Davidson River is one of my favorite roads! Thanks for the pics Thom!

Looking at these pics after retrieving the mail in this 90degree heat just makes me shake my head. I don't even want to look at a jacket right now.

Ride safe.....

Nice pix! 276 is one of my favorite roads. It's even more fun south of Brevard!
Next time your heading up to the BRP, try 215 out of Rosman. It has fresh asphalt, smooth as glass! Past the BRP, 215 is full of huge pot holes. Glad you had a great ride. If you ever want to meet up, PM me.

276 south of Brevard ... Caesar's Head

They're not called the Blue Ridge for nothing.
