Have a friend asking me "Any problems with the "02" 955? Any questions to ask?"
All I could find is the fuel line issues that caused a recall. Thus he should ask if the recall work was performed. I guess he should ask about the radiator cap too as these apparently don't last very long.
Anything else?

some interesting stuff being that the 2002 model year was the transition from a sand cast motor to a die cast one. Also John was afraid of the Tiger being endowed with the old Lucas stuff. Heck, his joke, "have you heard that Lucas is making vacuum cleaners...? It's the only thing they ever made THAT DIDN'T SUCK!"

One of our group has an '01 with 114,000 miles on it. He bought a Concours 1400, but still shows up on the Sprint.

I have an '03 with 60,000 on the clock. I've had issues with the fuel line fittings, (CPC cr*p) and oxy sensors causing lumpy running when idling/low revs. But the bike is sound and good fun to ride. Certainly has the better of the triple engines...

i had one. 30k when i sold it. the only problem i had was a flat tire. bike ran great and was comfortable. did 1029 miles on it in 22 hours on a ralley that i was doing.
If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

About 5 years ago I was out in Riverside, CA talking with the owner of JRC Engineering. He had a big barn next to his warehouse that housed all his bikes (about 60 to 70 in total). When you walked into the barn one of the first bikes you came to was a Tiger 955. It had about 100,000 miles on it. I asked him how well it has held up, and his reply was that he couldn't kill the bike, which is part of the reason I got an 07 Tiger. Tom
