nine days, and i'm loving this thing. i swear i can't go anywhere without coming out to find an oldtimer staring, ready to tell me "boywheniwaselevenmydaddybroughthomeabonneville650in1962anditellyouihadthatthinguponthebackwheeldoingwheeliesallthewaydownthestreetinfiveminutesflatijustlovemesometriumphsodangmuchboyitellyouwhat."
oh, and the performance is pretty good too. took me two days to double the mileage, and over the weekend i had some serious spirited twisty riding, then i had my first rainy ride, and watched the clock flip over 1000 miles. man, i love this thing.

Uh huh...uh huh. Yep! That kind'a thing happening IS a pretty nice affirmation of your choice in motorcycles, isn't it, Steve?! Well, at first anyway. And, I'll give ya about 10 months, tops, of being late for various appointments 'cause this happened yet AGAIN while you were fillin' the gas tank, or makin' a quick stop at that ATM, OR stoppin' at that 7-11 for a pack of smokes while you're on your way to those appointment that you're already runnin' late for, and when you start findin' yourself subconsciously divertin' your eyes away from those older gents who you think might possibly be on their way over to you and will want to talk at length about how your bike reminds 'em of their 1962/63/64/65/66/67/68/69/70 T100/T120 Triumph. (btw, if you're wonderin', I still always treat those fellas with the respect they deserve once they walk up to me and gain my attention, 'cause the way I figure it, anybody who knows and appreciates great motorcycles ought'a be treated with at least modicum respect, right?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

That is correct Dwight. We owe them for a lot. Had they not bought the first ones making all those memories there wouldn't be the new ones. Legendary, iconic, and other cool words describing them really wouldn't be there without those old guys pushing those old bikes to the very limits of what is still considered "cool".
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

I'm glad you are happy with your purchase Steve. I know I am still happy with mine. 4 and 1/2 years I have owned her and I still say the best bike I have ever owned. I will take her to the grave with me. I still want other bikes too but I aint gettin rid of me speedy.

Gotta love this bike! But I don't think I'm ever gonna die. Way too much to do, and the list keeps getting loooooonger!

Right on Steve!! Hope you learn to live with geezers hovering around your bike... it's really the only drawback.
Live to love, love to live.
