Has anyone put a different wheel on the front of the Speedmaster? Mine seems to have a bit of a tweak, so if I'm going to replace it I'd like to go with something that's a closer match to the rear. I just haven't found any specific to our bikes.

Are we talking wheels, tires, or both??? A wheel/tire as large as the one on back seems a bit much.

I'm pretty sure he means wheel and something that looks like the back rim. IOW it isn't some gray painted, large hollow hub POS.

Try Euro Shop out of Waco, Tx. Or get your hands on an America hub and have Buchanan build you a spoked rim.

You got it Derek. I'll try the Euro shop. Laced wheels are out, as I want to continue to run tubeless tires, and there are very few that allow that.

Good luck on your search. Not many have tried this, and few have succeeded. I believe Buchanan can seal your rim and allow you to run tubeless tires on a spoked rim. I know Aprilia Caponords come with this kind of setup from the factory so it must work ok.

BMW comes with tubeless tires on laced wheels also. It's a possibility. I'm going to try to see if any Japanese rims have the same specs.

I ran across another place that can seal a spoked rim. Wheel Works in Garden Grove, Calif can do them from what I read in this article at motorcyclecruiser.com

Finding an America hub could be a problem. I wonder if Triumph will sell you just the hub? Another possibility is using a Thrunderbird fron rim, or maybe just the hub off one if you can get one cheap on ebay. In this thread Benny says he has a Thunderbird front wheel on his America.

Yup I do. T-bird front wheels are the same as ours, Tbird sports have 2 discs I think, and are 17". One thing, a Triumph rim alone was like 400 bucks, and I think a whole weel was like 600, so I would imagine a hub would be a couple bills easy. Rip off city... Hence my search for an alternative. Good luck!

Do you think a spoke wheel will match the rear rim on the speedmaster any better. Still seems it will be out of whack to me.

It would look alright if you removed the clear coat and polished that back wheel. IMO it wouldn't look any worse than what comes stock. I'm just going along with the idea of trying to keep the costs down. Custom wheels are big bucks from what I've seen on the net and in catalogs.

Yeah ya know the wheels don't match now, so I guess it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. Then down the line maybe you could get your hands on an America cpoked rear wheel and match it all up.

That's a good thought. I think a laced front wheel would actually look good with the rear. The front that comes with it is Butt ugly!
Maybe someone could photoshop one to see how it looks. I don't have that ability.

I agree it about the uglyest thing triumph could have possibly come up with. It just looks like they just sent joe out behind the barn to see what was laying around and he came back with this thing. Yea, stick that thing on there and lets ride. Wonder if anyone has chromed or polished on of these critters. Course that may just draw more attention to that god awful albatross.

Boogieman had his Speedmaster's wheels chromed. Couldn't find a good pic of them though in his gallery or at his website. He has the bike up for sale in the classifieds.

I called wheelworks a few weeks ago about having my spoked wheels sealed. The gentleman informed me that they are not offering that service at this time because they are working out some issues with the process. He wouldn't give me any details.

I have both a 18" front and 16" rear 95 T-Bird wheels in good shape...the plus is they are Akront Aluminum rims...

I know the front should bolt right up to the America, the rear rim (but not the hub) should work for the america as well...

If anyone is interested...shoot me an email...I will probably let them go cheap!
