aren't all bad...
Ad shown on 10/01

I sure would like to be able to say something good about adulterating gasoline with corn squeezin's, but for the life of me -- I can't.

For those of you using non ethanol gas, ya don't know how lucky you are. Just as one example - Uncle Charlie & I got an extra 10 to 15 MPH top end on non-ethanol gas on the way to Noreast Rally '09, despite heavily loaded / camping gear laden bikes.

The gas station right up the road has real gas, when they ain't run out cause everyone buys it instead of the corn squeezin's. Corn squeezin's is fer drinkin!
You are right though, the bike runs better and farther with the real gas.

I've become comfortably numb

come to california where we have a special blend that allows the gas station to add an additional .70 cents over the rest of the country

If it isn't broke, I haven't messed with it.

Uh huh, Ian. Is THAT because all kickstarter/breaker point ignition equipped motorcycles from the distant past might run a little better with lead coursing through their combustion chambers???

(...well, at least that's MY guess as to why you might feel this way)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Not really. Google just reads the content of the page and looks at your I.P. Address (to guess your approximate location) and gets ads accordingly. Sometimes they're right sometimes not so right.

Seems there's no boundaries when it comes to advertising stuff we just gotta have . Just can't get away from ads . (an inconvenient truth)

OH! That's right. I forgot!!!

WADE! WADE! Actually I misspoke earlier about not gettin' any reward. Once you hit the 2000 post level, you get to have those ads on your computer that Ron here is talkin' about. The ones with those hot babes with biguns!

(...and if your computer isn't now showin' 'em, then you better contact Friar John right away and see why you're not receivin' those on your screen yet!!!)

I think Google looks at more than just the page content. They look at your browsing history as well.

Edit: It also defaults to motorcycle and maybe automotive ads if you have no history. I'm currently surfing at work with Google Chrome in Incognito mode which stores no browsing history. So I get nothing but motorcycle-related ads (as I'm sure Robert set up as the default category if indeed there is that much control in Google Adsense). At home I surf in regular Google Chrome mode and see all kinds of different crap.

Are you absolutely sure that's correct, John???

'Cause if THAT were the case, then my ads should be about hot Eskimo babes beatin' the crap outta walruses in Alaska!!!

(yeah, I know...but as they say, "Whatever floats your kayak!"...and woo-EEE, you ain't lived 'til you start enjoyin' THAT scene!!!)

And sooooo, why is it then that all I'm gettin' are ads tellin' me that I can have a whole new "Lifestyle" if I would just purchase a brand spankin' new Harley-Davidson at any of their 10 gazillion dealerships located through this great country of ours? HUH???!!!

(...not to say, mind you, that I probably DO NEED a "LIFE", but maybe a whole new "lifestyle" might be pushin' my envelope a bit, ol' buddy!!!)
