Well, so far, it's been 2 months, and I wouldn't move if you put a gun to my head! I think I've rode my bike to work now every day straight for 3 weeks, and so far I'd say we're rivalling Florida for most consecutive sunny days. Now I know this warm streak we're having isn't normal, and we'll pay for it dearly this winter, but man, this place is just motorcycle nirvana. Warm, dry, and lots of wide open roads. And, 30 minutes from my front doors, I'm 8000 feet above sea level among the ponderosa pines and canyons just north of Boulder. Put a fork in me, I'm done!

Really glad to hear you're likin' it out west here, Greg! (yep, I got me a whole lot o' those Ponderosa Pines around here in Prescott too...mountain livin', there's nothin' like it, huh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Glad you're enjoying it!

I miss Fort Collins sometimes, but not today's Fort Collins, 1991 Fort Collins...

Every time I'm in Florida, I think geesh these boring roads would get old real fast. Than, I sit back down in my beach chair and have another beer.....Florida has it's positive's!

Greg -
Welcome aboard, glad you're with us. At least you'll have a chance to get a few more weeks of riding in before things get chilly-cold.Have you ridden up to Estes along the Cache la Poudre yet? US 6 from Idaho Springs, to near Vail, and from Vail to Gypsum - a better ride than being trapped on I-70. Now US 6 to US 40 then back through Estes can be fun, but I don't know when Trail Ridge Road closes
And if you gt the urgis to Sturgis, close, baby - and everyone knocks it, but you have to see "the elephant" at least once.
Let me know when you're over the hump, and on the Pac drainage of the C/divide
Of course, there's no excuse for not coming to SWTF in Prescott, now. Mikey and I would be glad to show you the way, though you'd be tempted to go I-24 to I-40 - Don't. You haven't lived until you've been hit up for change in Tuba City, AZ.

Dwight, I'd say "likin" is a tad bit of an understatement! Took a quick spin (in the car since my son was with me and it was kind of cool today) up CO 119 into Nederland, a continuous twisty road running alongside a creek, with 500 foot craggy canyon walls straight up on both sides with a sprinkling of Ponderosa all the way up. Then, just as you crest into Nederland at 8200 feet, a big reservoir and ****** leading the way into Nederland. Heading back tomorrow morning to visit the Oktoberfest.

Kaiser, grew up in "Little Egypt", Olney, IL, and went to high school west of Peoria(Avon) and to Western IL U, so am well versed in Illinois! I would say Firestone, where I'm at, is western IL, but with the panorama of the Front Range to block out the western horizon. Fairly flat, with lots of ranches and cornfields so as to not block the view!

John, at this point, I don't care what year Fort Collins it is, although I have to say Longmont is every bit as neat as Fort Collins, without the University(and that hassle). And, if I want to see college kids, a 12 mile jaunt to CU in Boulder has more co-eds than I can shake a stick at...

Bill, I have no plans on missing the next SWTF, and have plans to go SW through Durango and Tuba City, rather than the interstate. See ya there!(or we can meet up if you're heading down that way for the next one....)

Yeah, I guess all of IL isn't bad. If I go about 3-4 hrs west of here there is some great riding. Chicagoland leaves a lot to be desired in the riding department. My best friend lives in Brighton, CO and says the same thing, flat where he lives but a short ride to awesomeness.
