I have and no longer need this. Whoever would like it let me know. The deal is I pay to ship it to you and you pay to ship it to the next guy.

Hello,

Do you still have the Gunter saw? If so, I would like to arrange to receive the saw. Does it still work well? I know it's been in use for a while. I also want to make sure it will work with the stock pipes for a 2008 TA.

Thank you.

Todd Baker

Hey Jason,

Just wanted to check with you and see if you had had time to send the Gunter Saw? I hadn't seen it and just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten about me.

Thanks Man.

Hey all,

Unfortunately, I still haven't seen the saw. If I do then I'll definitely send it on. I'm considering fabricating my own. Should I locate a welder and do this then I'll let you know.

Thanks.

Yeah if you have an arc welder I guess you could do it. I was thinking of going to Lowes and see what they have. Seems like you could could buy one that would at least get to the first 2 baffles. A few years ago when I did this I actually used a drill bit to poke a bunch of holes through the first one to see how it would sound. Then I used the saw bit that was actually welded to a big pipe. The pipe weighed so much though you needed a powerful drill. I chewed up the saw bit because I just had a 1/2 hp home drill that didn't have enough torque. I got those dang baffles out though, but it wasn't pretty.

I made my own a little over two years ago, ended with an overall length of 12 inches. It works great with slash cut pipes, it ripped right through the 1st & 2nd baffle it actually sliced the little pipe in half! For the third baffle I had to use an extension. Still usable, I can ship it back as long as I get it back.

Here is a link to my build.

So a gunter saw is actually some type of hole saw then?

Yes, but if you see the baffle removed then you will understand why it needs to be so deep. Here is a link to a picture of how the removed baffles look like.

Cheers Steamroller.
I understand now. With that set-up in your link, did the owner need to re-jet?
I have drilled through the the first 3 plates on my '06 America with an extended 1/2" drill bit and it is definitely an improvement in exhaust note over stock but not sufficient a modification I believe to think bout re-jetting. I didn't do it to improve performance but just wanted a slightly sweeter exhaust note coming out of my slash-cuts.

The Gunter saw is at least twice as long as that. Actually quite cumbersome for that first baffle but a dream for the others.

You should check your mixture and performance, do not want to run too lean. I was running a set of Supertrap mufflers that were less restrictive so my bike was jetted for that set up, also running a K&N and drilled air box.

There are some guys here with lots of real time experience, tuning their bikes, with different intake exhaust mods. Check with them, they even have a calculator so help you figure out the jetting.
