Looks like minimal interest in an Ephrata Breakfast Run, so I plan to amble down to VA for this. The ride over the Potomac at White's Ferry makes for a nice break. Weather's supposed to be fine! See ya there.

Cool, want to meet @ White's Ferry? I've never been that way. Just pick a meet time.

White's Ferry has a parking lot adjacent to where you form a line to board the boat. Copy/paste this link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Whites+Ferry+Rd&daddr=38.86886,-77.54043+to:10624+Dumfries+Rd,+Manassas,+VA+20112&hl=en&geocode=FSR0VQIdDyph-w%3BFXwXUQIdstNg-ynbBGZoaEK2iTGEhSd0kV5u-w%3BFdrkTgIdW9Zh-ykBDXK5q162iTFFBrBuSzYSrQ&mra=pr&via=1&sll=38.999976,-77.192688&sspn=1.077899,2.447205&ie=UTF8&z=9 and switch to Satellite view to see the spot. Will meet you there at 9am which will put us at the fairgrounds just after 10am, but a later meet is okay, too. Just let me know. Thanks! BTW--I think the ferry fare is about $8.

I was worried there for a minute, we're on opposite sides of the Potomac! But, it's just about the same amount of time for me to get to either side.
Could we meet @ 10 AM? (or 9:30 if 10 is not great on your end)

Cool, we might have some major flooding at that point. Better check if the ferry is running. Does it have a webpage?

Just tried phoning them at 3 0 1 - 3 4 9 - 5 2 0 0, and the pre-recorded announcement said the boat is running on schedule right now. Website describing them is at http://canal.mcmullans.org/whites_ferry.htm Weather is supposed to be good through Sunday, but I will call them that morning to confirm they're still running. Can give you a call afterward. What time are you heading out?

We should be OK, rain passed pretty quickly. I'm leaving around 8:30 AM. If you don't have my cell, send me an email. I'll go via Brunswick>Point of Rocks and down, more scenic than I-70 to Rt. 15! Quote:

Great day out! The weather held and lots of nice bikes at the show. Decent barbecue, too! Good idea, Al. Count me in for next year!

Yep, I had a blast. I rode under some pretty black clouds on the way home, but nary a drop of rain. In the door, than back out to take the daughter to dinner for her birthday with my folks - a pretty full day.
Here's some pictures I took at the event and riding the ferry across the Potomac. http://community.webshots.com/album/578701047iqQhiD?start=0
Here's John looking rather pleased with himself and our bikes.

There was a chick on one! I didn't get to see what that blue bike was, it was a streetfighter type, but I never got a close up look. He started to dart past me on the main road, but than dropped back, it was pretty fast.

Some of my chopper buddies (Jockey Journal) were there. One local guy PM'd me last night and said I won an award, he saved it for me. That made me laugh. We left as they were wrapping up judging and I remember saying to John "they never give America's awards, the standard Bonnie guys always get them". Guess not!
