Was in Columbus, OH on business this week and checked out of the hotel yesterday AM. The bellman offered to put our luggage right in the rental car so we did not have to wait for the valet to bring the car around and could get to our meeting (this place has ONLY valet parking). Gave the bellman the valet ticket, got a new valet ticket, and went on thinking "Cool, good customer service". At the end of the day, we go back to the hotel, get the car and there is NO luggage in the trunk This morning I got an email from a fellow in Detroit who got home last night and found our bags in his car and is already sending them back to us today. People rock. (most people anyway)

"feel good" has a lot to do with your outlook/attitude. Instead of your point of view, a lot of people would be writing a complaint about the valet's mistake.
I prefer your viewpoint.

Ya know, at least the guy tried. He may have messed up but he didn't have to offer. It's a bit of a pita but half way through your account I figured you were gonna end with your bags were stolen! Nice to see that you see the glass half full.

Some folks out there are awesome but I have the misfortune to work in an ER so I'm jaded as ******. America is doomed.

Ya know Zach, I sometimes get to feelin' the same way. And then just when I feel there is no hope, "Jeopardy" will have one of their Kids/Teens/College Tournaments, and my faith in America's future is reborn.
(...of course, then later that night, Leno will have one of those friggin' "Jay Walking" segments on his show, and I'm right back to feelin' like you feel again!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Oh man, those Jaywalking bits make me laugh, and feel sad at the same time. The ones that hurt the most are the school teachers. One of them couldn't correctly identify a picture of George Washington.....jeeeez.....

I've never seen that bit, but now I'll have to check it out. And I hope your right Dwight, I hope those kind of kids are steering the ship in the future.

I never fail to be dissapointed in the level of stupidity in people that Jay seems to find. Does he just put on the really stupid ones....I hope so.
Because I do not want to believe that our younger generation of 18 to 35 year old people are as stupid as the ones that Jay finds.
I wish I could ask him about this.....

Yeah Dan, I'll betcha Jay pretty much only shows us the REAL dummies that he walks up to out there on the street.
However, what I always found revealing about those segments is that I know every single person who is filmed for those segments must sign a waiver in order for their "appearance" to be broadcast, and soooooo the REAL question IS: How friggin' badly must those people "need" to be on TV and get their friggin' "15 miniutes of fame" IF all they're doin' is showing the world how friggin' ignorant they are, huh?! 'Cause, if I were THAT friggin' STUPID, I think I'd try to hide that fact from everybody else as long as I could. Wouldn't YOU???!!!
Yep, those friggin' morons actually somehow seem "PROUD" that they're as ignorant as they are in those segments, and THAT'S somethin' I just CAN'T fathom at ALL!
(...but, evidently THIS is the "New Social Paradigm" sweeping the nation: "I gotta be on TV"...but enough about all those "Reality" programs out there and all the money the producers of this genre of shows are rackin' in by makin' 'em)

A sign of the times....only in this culture is it a mark of distinction to show how stupid one can be.As exibits...those "jackass" shows, a lot of reality shows, especially that one filmed in Jersey, with Snookie and the gang,....
