I got my new procomm today and had a question that someone here should be able to answer quickly. The existing CDI is held onto the frame in a little bracket. I was hoping the replacement came in that bracket, but it didnt. To attach it to the bracket, there are 2 little plastic fastners with thin rounded heads on each side. Those of you that have done this replacement, did you just wind up snapping out those plastic fastners and replacing them with something else? Or did you work them loose by putting a flat blade screwdriver under an edge? Or some other method?

On my '05, I gently pried the bracket away from the CDI with a flat blade screwdriver. The plastic fasteners were four parts, and reusable. They lock back together with little barbs / teeth, kinda like vehicle interior trim fasteners.

If yours is different, some wire ties may work.

Hapiness is a mitfull of wire ties, duct tape, and a leatherman tool
