Yeah... pretty much exhausted this topic, well unless someone want's to pipe up about having to much back pressure or something! Otherwise I think I'll head 'er outta here.

PS. I wrote this for you Greg. Hope you enjoyed it!

I'm kind of enjoying the quiet of the stock pipes. I leave my neighbourhood at 0500 hrs, and I'm sure my neighbours appreciate the quiet also. Now, once they tick me off, that'll change!

originally had the tors fitted ,then I thought id try some 18 inch turnouts from flea bay They were Bonerattling , filling loosenin , make small dogs cry loud and on the decelleration the popping would make young children wee themselves and ex army dive for cover THEY WERE GREAT ,but alas 4.30 am starts and the neighbours are starting to comment , thus thought ID try out the stocks

Well what i did was trashed the snorkle, installed a uni filter, shimed the needle up .9 mm, installed 130 mains, got ridd of the air injection, then installed 18" pipes with a 90 degree turn downs. now its a monster.

Now theres the subtle difference between turning heads and being taken out ..... TURN DOWNS and TURN OUTS , down hits the tarmac ... out hits the un suspecting pedestrian

Staintune which are slashcut and essentially turnouts without restrictors are the answer. Best sound and will outlast all others.

let the neighbors cry. who cares they are all obnoxius in there own way. Roudy kids, barking dogs, midnight window head lighters (usually on bright).

Ive had both on my Speedy... she was bone stock when I got her, and remained stock in the exhaust dept. for probably 2-3 years into my ownership. I fought tooth and nail against the derision of my peers to keep her that way (despite the Singer sewing machine references) until gettin a lil buzzed one night and giving in to a friends suggestion to "take off the mufflers and take her up the road", at which point i had to make her loud. now with a few years on 17" straight pipes with unpacked baffles, i gotta say... i'm changin her again. got some pipe from Jegs and i'm gonna try to build a 2 into 1... loose some obnoxious and gain some backpressure... maybe wrap em to keep things cool... started out as an answer to some melted bike cover on the header, but the more i think about it, i really don't need them any louder than absolutely necessary to keep her performance up.
