I am about to install Progressive 440 shocks and the Triumph maintenance manual says to ALWAYS use new mounting bolts. Wonder if you have any thoughts? Only have about 5K on them and not trying to be cheap, just a matter of convenience.

I didn't but found one of each side had backed out over a usage period of 25-30k miles. I'm not sure if that is related to reusing those bolts, or to just check fasteners every once in a while. I put a little blue locktite on them after discovering the 2nd loose bolt.

I always reuse those and have never had an issue.

Thanks, I'll reuse and keep an eye on them. There is very little--like a quarter of an inch between the lower shock and my PDQ belt drive but I can not see how it can move closer no matter what. Right or wrong?

Just check the bolts once ina while and you'll be fine. The Haynes manual says 28 Nm.
