now how about this, turn a nice big naked bike like this into retro like this Now it will annoy any purists but I love it and might even look for a donor bike to give it a go. here is the german website for the bits http://www.rf-biketech.de/shop/product_i...98q1onsbe1j87nk

Yeah! I think that's very cool, Neil. Considering many owners of Hinckley Triumphs have "retro-ized" their bikes to look more like Meriden-built machines, and most of those I've seen I think have turned out very nicely, I think taking a modern ZXR and making it look like a mid-'70s Z1(the meanest Superbike of it's era) is a very cool idea too! (so...it seems that trip you recently took with the owner of that nice lookin' old Z1 might have had a little effect on you, eh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

One of my newer riding buddies has the original bike, or something very similar, up top. I need to send this to him.

Looks a lot like a Triumph Legend or Adventurer or even Thunderbird (previous version).

Yeah, it's a ZRX. My brother had one, it was a hoot to ride and pretty quick, it made a great sport-tourer. That company looks like it makes some pretty cool items.

Definetely an improvement but the 1970s kawasaki engines have alot more character. It makes me long for one of the many old kwakas I used to own. I reckon if they brought out a retro kawasaki 70s series and did it well like Triumph have they would have enormous success.
