Looking to replace my stock tires w/Avon
Front & rear.
Who has done it?
What size?
How do U like them?
Did U have 2 install new tubes?

I've done it.
front - 100/90h18 p/n AV324.
rear - 170/80h15 p/n AV338.

Got both delivered to my front door for $215.00 last June.
What a difference from the stock Bridgestone junk.!!
I had my dealer install them and he found a pinhole in my stock rear tube, so I had him put both tubes in new.
IMHO, you don't have to replace the tubes, but you are there so why not do it?

One caveat, some dealers get a little crinkled about installing tires that you don't buy from them. Not mine, my dealer is great. But I've heard stories... they put you on the back burner or inflate the price... just a heads up.

Again, I think the Avon Venom X's are a vast improvement over the Bridgestones.

hey grump are there any real differences going to the 100's from 110's? what u think of those compares the the metzlers also? just curous. thanx

I don't know anything about the Metzelers, other than they came stock om the SM's and those who have them seem to like them as well...
I didn't notice any difference with the Avon's that I could attribute to the slight size difference but there is a world of difference in feel and handling between the Avon's and the stock Bridgestones. Time will tell what kind of mileage I get from them.

Love my Avons, trying to wear out my 2nd set right now. Excellent handling and ride...

Hey Gary, Here's a pic of my front Avon under my NEW speedmaster fender. I didn't consider the new fender till I got the new tires which look much sportier, ya know? Plus with the slightly smaller size, the gap to the fender is a liiiiitle more noticable.

Frank, ditto what Grump says. I feel like the bike turns in quicker and with more confidence, maybe it's the tire size, maybe it's psychological, more than likely it's the tire itself, but I like it!! VAST improvement.

Avon Super Venoms are the WAY to ride, make the Bridges feel like Tractor tires. Avons are sticker, track better, allow better bike geometry, turn-in, etc. DID-O to Grump's comments. I think I changed my tires at around 4k and am real glad I did

Is there a difference between the super venoms and venoms?
