Was away with my bro and our ladies for a couple of days and stopped for a pic. Its my rocket, his V-Rod muscle and a fantastic strip of tarmac with a glorious veiw. Its the A832 looking onto the east end of Loch Maree in sunny Scotland. Hope you like it.

That is a really cool shot. The road looks so inviting especially with Loch Maree in the distance. Nice.

Wow, quite a panorama! How's that R3 compare to the V-Rod in the power department?

Well, ask the guy on the V-Rod. He'll be an expert on the R3 tail light!

lol, the V-rod has a higher top speed as its restricted at 140ish and the rocket is restricted at 135ish but I can smoke him anytime epecially if there are corners lol. To be fair the v-rod can shift and if he gets the jump on me he takes a bit of catching.

There used to be a professional video of the Rocket3 vs. Vrod on youtube(I think) where they performed on a closed track including twisties. I was just looking for it but couldn't find it. In this test:

With professional riders, the R3 won in the straights but it was the vrod that beat the R3 in the corners. This was just one run but it was fun to watch and the battle was a pretty darn close throughout all the tests.

As "ugly" as the Rocket III is, it's still better looking than a Vrod.

lol its a v-rod muscle and no way can anybody out corner a rocket on one. It scraps on the ground just thinking about going round a corner.
Its not holding on at high speed thats hard its my right foot gets blown off the peg, it gets really hard to hold it on, and I've hit the speed limiter on it a few times but its a lot easier with a screen on.

Reminds me of Beartooth Pass near Red Lodge, MT, except much smaller change in elevation...

Nice pics here, Neil. Looks like you guys had a great trip.

Your friend's old Z1 Kawasaki looks to be in terrific shape too. What is it, a '74?

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dwight I dont know exactly but it sticks in my mind that it is 35 years old, that would make it 75? It was imported from the states around 15 years ago. he is gradually putting it back to standard. That trip was only a few weeks ago and we did 535 miles in two days and the old bike ran really well, never even topped up the oil.

Now why did you have to do that -- show pics of that Rocket in such a beautiful setting? Makes me want a Rocket, and I so don't need to want a Rocket.

Indeed it is, saw some local power rangers giving it some large around the hairpins, I could here one blokes tyres squeal as he rounded a bend, the bike was almost flat to the ground lol. we were stopped by the police at each end of this road. They checked our tyres and licences. They were stopping every motorcycle.it was a weekend day so it was fairly busy.

It is mate, he is gradually putting it back to standard. He fitted a new wiring loom last winter. We did an 800 mile trip in the summer and all he did was put a quart of oil in it.

Nice shots there big fella!

Been on one or two of those roads and the Rocket looks good. To be honest your kids V Rod looks the part.

You must join us in on the Pie Run to Lochinver and Ullapool next easter.
