I heard once that this is a straight swap to go to a 17x4.5" rear wheel setup. Can anyone confirm, or tell me what I need to change? Also, I am not sure if I need the need the Tiger's sprocket carrier & cush drive, or would mine work. I have an 05 America

Wellll, the old tiger wheels are interchangeable with the wheels on the 3-cyl classics, and the Tbird sport front wheel is a direct swap onto the speedmaster. if the classics rear wheel will fit our bikes, the tiger wheel will fit. anybody? You could check with these guys... http://www.triumph-ant.co.uk/bikes.html

This sounds really interesting! But isn't the sprocket on the triples on the wrong side for fitting to the America? How much alteration did you have to do to get the Thunderbird/Tiger wheel to fit? More detail pleez (so I don't go off and waste my money on the wrong tyre and wheel!)

How about the front wheel? I'm looking for the least expensive way to put spoked wheels on my speedy and those tbird sport fronts are pretty ****** hard to find.

Least expensive way to put spokes on your Speedmaster is to offer to trade all the parts with an America owner, including all the brake parts needed to run the dual discs (right fork leg, right caliper and master cylinder, primarily, along with the wheels). I bet someone would go for it.
When I put the TBS dual disc wheel on my TBA, I was looking at $620 for the brake upgrade kit. But I was able to swap parts with a Speedmaster owner and it saved me a bundle.

I picked up a NOS Bonneville America wheel years ago for right around a c-note. Glad I had it as several years ago I pilfered a nipple off one of the spokes the day before I heading out to Canandaigua, NY. Point? Look far and wide. A wheel will turn up.

Dual disc TBS wheels are rare as rocking horse poop. I snagged mine off ebay a few years ago for around $360 (That might've been with shipping, I can't remember). And no, it's not for sale.
