Does anyone out there have any input on Scorpion helmets? Mainly the EXO-1000 or EXO-700? I'm leaning toward one of the two but just thought I would seek some wisdom from my fellow BA riders. Paw

I've got the EXO-700. I love it. It fits well and is pretty quiet. The ventilation is good too.

I haven't owned one myself, but I used to sell them. I never had any complaints, and my customers that owned them seemed very happy with them. I don't like that they are Chinese made and simply contracted out though, it just doesn't give me confidence in the company. There are other brands in the same price range that are just as good if not better in my opinion. There seem to be a ton of good deals on Shark helmets right now too.

Besides Shark, who else might you recomend, and can you tell me which brands are made in the USA. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all. I got an EXO-1000 on line for $165.00, INCLUDING shipping, plus, no stax. Brand new, close out---great deal for a $300.00 helmet.

Interesting, but there probably aren't really any USA made helmets. Even my Nippon Arai probably was assembled with Sino components. USA made can be deceiving, a HD dealer recently told me that only something like 18% of a USA made HD leather jacket has to be actually assembled in the USA, meaning the lining and hardware.

I have an EXO700 helmet for the highway, light and plenty of air flow needed here in Arizona, and a EXO 200 for around town. Love them both.

Got the EXO-900. It's ok, but next to my Nolan N-103, it doesn't stack up. Has a cheaper feel and the drop-down sun visor seems to bounce with the vibration when it's up... not much, but it's noticeable. I use it as a 3/4, but for a full face / modular, I wear the Nolan.

Found it on EBay here: http://stores.ebay.com/salvagecycle?_rdc=1Helmet is brand new, not a scratch on it. Just a close out. Ya never know what they will have so check them out. Plus they do the "best offer" thing. I offered $150.00 and they accepted it plus $15.00 shipping. Good communication, fast shipping. Paw

Yeah, put me down for liking the Scorpions. I have two, a 3/4 and a 1/2 shell. Like the pull down visor myself and the cushioning inside is great. For me the clincher though was the way the front stitching is rolled up into the helmet. I checked out most other helmets including Shoei and HJC. They have the same bold stitch line that cuts across my forehead just like my, ahem, very inexpensive Outlaw. The result was a line cutting across my forhead causing headaches after a while. No problem with the Scorpions. For the price, I don't think there is a better helmet.
