Alex "Hurricane" Higgins , the peoples champion dead at 61 y o. most of you guys on here wont know this guy, but i,ll bet everyone from the UK and Ireland and maybe Austrialia do .he was a huge influence in the sport of snooker, breaking a lot of rules and taking the stuffiness out of the game and starting it on the road to mass popularity (most watched sport on tv in the UK at one point). boozer smoker and general hellraiser . R I P Alex, you brought many joy and excitement watching you play . http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sunday-mail...86908-22438808/

I remember seeing him in the eighties. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seemed he and another fellow - short reddish hair - called (I think) Steve something pretty much dominated the game.

Yep ... that's the one!
Superb players. Higgins was indeed a hurricane whereas this Davis guy seemed a cold-blooded bastage.
