For those of you who don't know... I live just down the road from Nelson. Now, Nelson is where the annual RAT Raid (only one in Canada) takes place. And Nelson is (as Freedom once put it) a bit of a bohemian town, and some interesting things pop up there, such as what's depicted on the pictures below. This creature sits on top of someone's house. I know some of you at the Raid wanted to get a pic of the gargoyle I pointed to as we rode by. Here's a couple I had hanging around on my computer.

If anything was gonna scare off any evil spirits that are lurking around it looks like that thing should do the trick!

I was thinkin' the same thing, John!
Though if you THINK about it, I suppose that would be ANY gargoyle's most photogenic angle, wouldn't it?!
(...I mean, they's AIN'T too pretty, ya know!)

Haven't figured out how to get around to a vantage point for the front. It's on one of those obscure streets that are hard to get too. I'll find a street down below somewhere where I can get a better shot.

Maybe you turn to stone if you look at its face, like the Gorgon. What do you turn into by looking at its butt? A smoker?

I was wondering what he had in his left hand. Must be some gargoyle version of loo roll.

I thought he stole the remote control.

I wish Keith! google, bing inquires. no bird's eye or street views on high street only on 3a. someone dropped a photo on high street but the resolution i had couldn't show the detail. but i gotta say, what i did see was beautiful, and bohemian. oneday

One day for sure Moe! I once drove (not rode) from Florida to BC. That was quite a trip and I saw some GREAT country and places. (I mention this as subtle programming of your mind to make it happen).

As my grandpa used to say "You can't learn any younger Jim"......I added the "Jim" part. We'll be harassing you & Lynn and the rest of the motley crew from the land where people talk kinda' funny to consider a visit.
Nelson has Gargoyles, barmaids w/2 toned hair, ferries and other amazing sites, sights. Heck, I might even be back on two wheels next year-yikes
