I bought one of these ultra-cool, super modern, futuristic, limited edition LED tail light lamps from Super Bright LEDs.

Should I be concerned about the orientation? I haven't looked at it outside of the garage today, but I'm curious if others are installing them like this.

i brought a couple of these a while back, good for lighting the number plate, even better when the brake is applied. The light goes upwards, and shows hardly anything when the lens is put back on. Good in a sparto, or a lucas where the bulb faces out, so not entirerly a waste of money for me as i have both on some bobbed fenders.

I use an LED bulb that has LEDs around the circumference and on top. Work great. Much brighter than stock. Check your local Truck Stop.

A couple choices on this page....Especially if you want say a Red Led for the tail light or amber for the blinkers. That's what I use. You can also get the console idiot LEDs here.

This is GREAT! Are there any load resistors or gizmos required for the brake/tail LED light?

Thanks.

Could you post a before and after shot of the tail light when you get the LED lamp?

Thanks,
H.

Harry.... All lights on my Speedmaster are now LED...except for Head light and Driving lights. My Tail light is a red Led [1157] similar to the one cci is getting. Blinkers have an Amber LED [1156] behind a clear lens up front and a Red LED [1156] behind red lenses at the back. Same confiquration as the Tail light bulb. I also added the Kissen Signal Minder that provides various lighting options. I did have to wire in 2 diodes under the console to get everything functioning properly. Thanks goes to Matt for that.

Hi Don. Thanks for the post. I just ordered the dashlight kit from Fast Eddy. Hmmm.

However, I'd like to go LED for the tail/brake light, and maybe the signal lights. That's something I'm very interested in doing if the lights are brighter than stock.

H.

check your local laws

Only problem I see (depends on your state law) but the License plate lamp must be white in some states...

From Texas Transpertation code (see f)

Sec. 547.322. TAILLAMPS REQUIRED. (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, pole trailer, or vehicle that is towed at the end of a combination of vehicles shall be equipped with at least two taillamps.

(b) A passenger car or truck that was manufactured or assembled before the model year 1960 shall be equipped with at least one taillamp.

(c) Taillamps shall be mounted on the rear of the vehicle:

(1) at a height from 15 to 72 inches; and

(2) at the same level and spaced as widely apart as practicable if a vehicle is equipped with more than one lamp.

(d) A taillamp shall emit a red light plainly visible at a distance of 1,000 feet from the rear of the vehicle.

(e) If vehicles are traveling in combination, only the taillamps on the rearmost vehicle are required to emit a light for the distance specified in Subsection (d).

(f) A taillamp or a separate lamp shall be constructed and mounted to emit a white light that:

(1) illuminates the rear license plate; and

(2) makes the plate clearly legible at a distance of 50 feet from the rear.

(g) A taillamp, including a separate lamp used to illuminate a rear license plate, must emit a light when a headlamp or auxiliary driving lamp is lighted.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.

how would a white led shine in the red or amber (for turn signals)? I had a site tell me white would not do as well as the colored LED's
