Did you install a steel or aluminum rear sprocket? I never had any luck with the aluminum rear sprockets.

You probably forgot to renew the hardness every other month by crushing up 10 viagra pills and sprinking the dust on the sprocket...

Got such good wear out of the Triumph set I bought the Triumph set again. Both my sprockets I took off can still be used, from shows very little wear and rear shows no visible wear and I never oil my chain or clean it.

How do you know that?????
Seriously, from the negative comments I've heard about the aluminum sprockets, I'd stick with the steel ones.

Thanks for the report on the aluminum sprocket. Something to avoid. I have 40,000 miles on the OEM steel.

Wazup with those aluminum sprockets anyway? Are the manufacturers daft? Maybe for racing (the weight thing) or some other specialty purpose but for cruising mile after mile after mile... I pretty much want steel.

Even with no lube for the 20,000+ miles (I think I ran it 23,000)I ran my set I didn't have to swap them yet. Even the chain wasn't really bad just starting to need adjustment more often. On my old bikes with std. chain I used to have to take a link out a couple times before I swapped it out. I hadn't removed a link from my old one yet. Like Bill I bet my rear sprocket would have gone well over 40,000 miles and may eventually go back on. I think I'll just slap a new chain on next time and see what happens, I was just taught never to do that so I changed as a set.
