Just rode home on my new to me (barely used) 2001 1200 Trophy, platinum in color. it is in absolutely pristine shape with 8500 original miles, and it looks it. It rides like a dream and has tons of power. Stopped by biker's house to show off, but he was away at some irrelevant non-motorcycle event with his kids. What a loser 8^) Anyway, found it yesterday on Craig's list. I was gonna post it here but then I decide to have a lookie for myself. $3600 bucks and she's mine now. Friggin cool! So for now at least, I am a 2 Triumph guy. Had to tell Jane I would probably sell Speedy, but we'll see how that goes. I will post an ad here to see if anyone bites, but I'm not sure how many folks will pay the $32,000 I will be asking. I figure if it doesn't sell, I might just keep them both. Probably have to sleep in the garage for the rest of the summer, but hey, it's warm and dry out there and that is where all the bikes are. Looks just like this one, but Platinum. (NOT silver, that's cheap, it's PLATINUM!. Actually kinda funny cause I work for "Platinum Sound")

I like those old Trophys and Sprints.. pretty cool bikes. I worked on several back in the day, mostly because of sitting around (instead of riding), carb type issues. Mikunis are a solid carb, kind of a weird float setup but run well when kept in operation. Hate the fuel petcock rig though, I had a couple of issues with those. Gotta drain the crankcase to replace the front sprocket.. always thought that was a bit odd but hey that's just me. Very sweet machine indeed, the ride is very smooth and the 1200 seems to have plenty of power. Good color too! Nice catch man.. Back in '02 there was a silver one at my first dealer that I used to go sit on and ponder the possibilities. As far as the multi bike syndrome goes.. I can relate I have 4 again now... I was down to 3 for awhile after I gave my son the Honda but back up to 4 now. Hold out man! Stand your ground! and if all else fails... play dumb!

Good score Pat!! A much better deal than I got a few weeks ago with my Trophy. They sure are great bikes. But don't discuss selling your Speedy around here unless you're willing to put up with some o' the flack I'm getting over the notion. Did it come with a top box or will you be adding one later?
$32,000, huh? Realistically... I think you can get more than that for the Speedy!!

Nice, Pat!!! A very good price and so new still. It really would be tough to beat that. About selling speedy... . I hope she didn't hear you say that. It would hurt her feelings

two motorsickles now snaggle-tooth? And one of which will roll nice little rubber snot balls? Sounds like you have to tool up to change tires. That is if there enough room in the shed for a tire changer and cot. Can't wait to see your new pearly whites er maybe I can. And if you have to sleep in the shed, where does that leave me this mid September? dangit man. Let's construct a 1500 mile keg tap so I can commiserate with ya!

List it for $32,999.00. That'll give you some hagglin' room.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Good deal, Pat. I've been looking for an older triple or maybe a 1200 for touring. Now's not the time to sell a bike. The economy has resale values in the toilet, that's why you were able to snag a $20,000 bike for $3600. You will have to do the wise thing and keep both til things turn around.

Top Box...Ohhhh Yeah, I gotta git me one for sure. Ed tells me that there is tons o'room and they are removable like the sides. I barely have 25 miles on her still....rained so ****** much.....I mean 6" in 2 hours! Roads closed, streets crumbling, creeks overflowing, cops and flagmen (oops...flag people), ambulances, basically nobody to mess with little ole me, but seriously busy doing their rescue stuff.
Anyway (been drinkin IPA, kin ya tell?) anyone know of a top box available?

Pictures just don't do that bike justice. They are a work of art in person.

I just scoured ebaymotors for one but no luck this time. Mine came with one and I'm told they were about a $1000 accessory. You need the luggage rack accessory too for the top box to clip on to. But once you have that setup then yeah, it just comes off like a piece of luggage (just like the saddle bags).
