Canada day is a stat holiday, one we have chosen as our birthday.Perhaps it was chosen so we could all have a long weekend and maybe do some cross boarder shopping.

I had a GREAT Canada Day. Yup, rode up to Toad Rock for the 8th Annual MC Rally. Geeze that's a GREAT event... and to think it's right here in me own backyard! The ride there and back... fantastic!! The people I met at the rally... outstanding!! The day was cool and overcast but no rain... suburb!! I'll post some pics from the rally somewhere. All in all just couldn't ask for a better day.

That's it Ian. Yup, we get all patriotic and stuff... wave a bunch of flags around, drink a bunch, do the fireworks thing and so on. Basically, celebrate while enjoying a day off work!

Would you believe I had Tim Hortons for breakfast at Mill Bay ferry terminal on the island, and then for T at Vernon I had another. Thats one of the chains I wish we had in the UK. Quading was a blast, 6 hours we where in the forest, went to the top of a mountain thats known as painted face, caus of the lican and stuff growing on it, got some good pictures for when I get back, also stopped at a abandon gold mine. great bunch of guys I was with, we covered 74 Km off road. I want one of the 600cc polaris, the 800cc twin was a bit much for me.

Well Stephen, as Gordie mentioned ya got your Olympic t-shirts, been out quading in the back country, and now Tim Hortons. Add the mountain top thing, exploring abandoned gold mines, ripping through the forest, negotiating endless twisties on the road (even if it was in a cage), and that's a huge indoctrination. Just to let you know... if ya really wanna get out ya better do it now. Because it won't be long before you find yourself on skis, or tearing up the mountains on a 140 HP snowmobile, or (Gawd forbid)... handed a broom at the local curling rink.
From what I could see, you adapt well and could easily pass as a canuk (well, maybe after watching endless reruns of the Red Green Show). It was good to meet you and I hope to connect again on the Green Isle someday down the road.
Live to love, love to live.

No problems Keith, I think I shall leave the cold weather stuff for you canuks, we had 3 weeks of it in the UK last winter and thats quite enough for me.
