Check some of the other recent saddlebag threads here in the accessories forum. Good reviews on the K-Drives. That isn't a bad price for leather bags (those may be Iparex), and they come with the mounting system. Consider how you plan to mount them...

I'd stay away from Triumph's bags, especially in wet ol' Seattle. My BA is an original Pac NW bike (know where Seabeck is?) and then after a year here in the damp and humid Texas Gulf Coast, the Triumph bags didn't last despite frequent leather conditioning.

I've got a set of them on back-order with my dealer - they can't order enough of these things to meet demand. It seems like a good-sized bunch of money, but consider that you don't need to fork out for easy-brackets and that makes it somewhat cheaper. I was lusting after these bags 12 months ago before they came out with a mount for our bikes and ended up buying the saddlemen drifters instead - but since I killed one bag when I dropped the bike insurance is replacing them and there's no local supplier for saddlemen so I got the k-drives instead. Will have more to say about them when I get them in a month or so.

K-Drive bags are for the serious only or the uncomfortably welloff. Decent leather bags start round 5 C-notes, no matter whom you purchase them from.

You will need hangers. You will need bags. Hangers take the form of rails or backing plates fixed to the saddlebags. Look for Honda rails. Look for EZ brackets. Triumph will sell you some rails (of course). EZ brackets require a stout, back saddle bag panel. Throw-over bags (used with rails) require no reinforcement.

Price Willie & Max and some after market rails.

Price Saddleman saddlebags and EZ Brackets and plexiglass backing plates. (Plates you fashion from a sheet of material).

Then look again at the K-Drive saddlebags system. About a 1.5 bill premium. Not bad.

Hope this helps. Feel free to search for more info as a lot may be found via this link Search.
