Looks great except for the whitewall on the rear. I don't think it looks right. Other than that, nice job on the girder front end and nice paint!

I like what you've done, how hard was it changing the stem in the springer? I love the paint also.

just my opinion of course but i have to agree about the whitewall, maybe a whitewall up front with a spoked wheel would be more to my liking. all in all though i like it!! i like the color and the set up, looks good!! i was wondering about the rear fender?? what is that off of?? and those bars?? what are they from and did you have to change cables or did you just want to?? but i have always liked girder and springer fronts i hate them for handleing capabilities but like the way they make a bike look. i have owned a couple of each and think i will stick with what came with my bike hahahahaha but then they were with rigid frames so i really dont know how they act with rear suspension??
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

The rear guard is a cut and shunt from a DragStar 1100 end to the Speedie back so the bolt holes would all match, bars are some off the shelf beach bars. Cables seem to fit. So far

Cool! Love what you're doing! So, how about some more info on that girder and how about closer pics of that side cover and whatever that is you've got painted on the front fender.

OK the side cover I made for fun from a ravers T Shirt Its pure eye candy though I'll get some pics of the girders soon. I don't have a decent camera though. I'm also blind so it takes a while for me to do anything. Heres a vid of the panel.

Nice work. I'd like to see a close up of that neck work - is it molded?

The tigers head on the front guard is to cover up a dink that happened while the paint was drying

Neck, do you mean head stock, nothing is moulded its a standard frame. I found out that you can run the electric cables from the switch gear under the front of the tank, like the throtle cables, and there is enough room in the front cradle of the frame to put them there, thus leaving just the light wire going forward. I'll get more pics of that when I do it. I was thinking of wiring in the headlight into the switch on the top of the headlight so I can have on/off headlights. Not sure though if thats really needed.

The rear rack was made from one of the Triumph tank racks you can get. The rear shocks are 1" lower. Also I have put an electronic speedo in the rev counter. There is a thread somewhere on here about that.
I have some 'Goldie' silencers to go on 'after' the MOT maybe. Side mounted plate as well to go on yet.
White wall paint will be gone over.
In the paint there are a few hidden things, theres a skull on the air ******/cat killer.

I like the color and the girder. I would love to do that, what make of girder and what was it designed to fit? Any other changes besides the new stem to make it fit? I like the rear fender but would too but would have opted for a fuller front or no front at all to go with it. (maybe just because I never liked the SM fender)

The girders where made for this bike. From scratch. Tried a few front guards, they never seemed to suit it.

I like what you've done there, Richard. However, here's my nit-pick: With that very cool lookin' girder front end and the number of other nice lookin' 30s/40s/50s motorcycle design cues you have goin' on there, I think the front airdam not only looks a little out of place and is a very "80s" look, but I think it draws the eye away from the girder a bit, and so I think you should lose the airdam.

Yeah, well, sorry Richard, but I still kind'a think it "pulls the eye away" from that very cool girder front end just a bit, even if you like the blend of different decades there.
(but, that beauty is yours, and so of course, as they say about boats and what makes 'em float)

Wiring started to be sorted, If you try there is enough to run the wires down the bars and back under the tank, they all fit neatly inside the neck bracing , this is a rough lay out, but you get the idea. This means all I will have running to the light is the light wires. nice and clean. I'll post a better pic when its done.

Right build back on after a break with bad luck and health. Should be finished this week and a totally different colour now due to someone running the bike over while it was parked.
