Can anyone tell me the thumb turn screws I need to do away with the "d" screws? If so, what is the number and where can I get them? Thanks James in Arkansas

Alright, got a pair of the thumb screws. There is apparently a spring and washer behind the d screws that I need to watch for when I take them out. Do I need to drain the gas out of the carbs? Any words of wisdom or do's/don't's from those who have gone before?

Don't need to drain the carbs. Place a rag under the carbs to catch any falling parts. There is an O-ring too, not sure if the thumb screws come with it or not. ( I would think they would but ya never know)

Changed out the D screws yesterday. Easy to do. Putting the rag underneath was a good idea. Here are some pics:

You can see the difference in length of the thumb screws as they are much easier to get to than the D screws. Be careful with the spring and washer when you remove the D screws. In my case there was no o-ring on either side, just the spring and washer.

Here is a shot of the thumbscrew installed on the right side. The left side is still a PITA to get to but much better than working with the D screw.
