OK, I have gone through the forums and tech archives and havnt found the thread I was looking for. I got curios today and started up the BA just to wet my apetite, we still have ice in front of the shed.I was polishing the tank and my fingernail caught the lip of the triumph emblem, this is on an 03 BA. I pried up the emblem, just curios of course, and it poped off, exposing several wiring harnesses. When I went to replace it I noticed that one of the little clips broke off, its only plastic. This is alright because now I can justify putting a tack on the bike, which I have wanted to do since I purchased it, only now I am confused. I thought that that was the location for the tach but in reading posts and looking at the handbook it is ment for the clock. Am I wrong , will I have to install a clock on my BA . Thats ok to, but if thats not the tach locatio, where is it supposed to go and what are all the wiring harness hookups for. Thanks
Larry

I believe Larry, that you can either install a tach or a clock it just depends on what takes your fancy. I havent installed either, but will be looking to install the tach there in the future with a clock somewhere else.

Hey Larry,
It will take either tach or clock. On yours, it's literally plug and play. Remove the three bolts holding the console, align and slide the tach in, bolt it down, plug it into the harness, and re-fasten the console. Should take about 15 minutes with a beer break...

Phil, I think the thread I was looking for was yours, the beer break thing sounds familiar. It shouldnt be hard. After looking on the bonnevile home page, cant think of the name of the parts and accesory dealer but it showed both the clock and tach in the same spot. Thanks Phil and Ray, when Im streching the job with a beer [ so I dont have to go in] Ill think of yall.Ill drink 2 a guiness and a pabst wadda ya think?

At first I really wanted a tachometer but in early '02 the things were on back order, it's a good thing though because I've grown quite attached to the badge on the console.

"a beer break" I must be getting lazy in my old age, I can't finish ANY job, even the five minute ones, without at least 2 beer breaks!!!!

Chy, Triumph offered a tach in early 02? Heck I thought they only offered the overpriced clock back then. I am thankful that I didn't order the clock as the tach would have been purchased and the clock sold for a pittance of its original cost.
