IIRC the guy that built that was around here for a while. I think the TV show it was for was "metric revolution".

Very old. It's been for sale on ebay a number of times. Mike Dusold built it on the TV show Stewart mentioned. I think he came in second or third.

Take 1 bike with good handling, chuck a load of time and money at it and end up with something that you have to get off and push around corners I'm not even going to mention speed bumps

I like custom bikes. But I don't spend a lot of time lookin at something like this. My personal interest rule is, if you can't ride it, it's just art. And while I really love art, art with engines should have some degree of function.

Jeez, people, it's ******-jewelry for a TV show. Wasn't even meant to hop bars, much less participate in an Iron Butt run...

it's got a air bag in the rear so it lifts up some

It does have an air suspension system that costs more then a decent used Speedmaster. I enjoyed seeing the Rocket built for the show; (there are still people who dont know "Triumph's building bikes again?"). Also, it is surprising how comfortable some of the most awkward looking bikes can be. I wouldn't want that to be my daily rider, but I wouldn't build anything like that if I didn't already have a mad cruiser and a crazy race bike and radical convertible sittin'with the pick up truck. This bike's for the dude with a lot of toys. I'll bet Dwight's finger is twitchin' over the Buy It Now button as we speak.

Well Paul, that bike is kind'a sort'a cool I suppose, and I can kind'a sort'a appreciate all the customs made parts that it took to make this "one-off" machine, but no, I'm a little more in Rich's above stated camp of the "Form Follows Function" school of engineering.
(so no, ol' buddy...this bike isn't twitchin' my trigger finger all that much...but ask me about that Street Triple/Street Tracker I see in that other recent thread around here, and dude, THAT would get my right index finger twitchin' up a storm!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

i had almost (thankfully) forgotten about the monstrosity with the alien-penis headlight. i'd take the motor out and let loose on the rest with my 12ga.

I would have to disagree with most of you on this one... I really like this bike, it makes it even nicer having the rocket 3 motor...used to have an air ride bike that was over 12' long and it rode very nice...took it on a 500 mile ride and was very happy with the control and comfort and mine didn't have the money and high end parts this bike has in it...
