Has anyone used the Off Road pipe manufactured by Triumph on their Speedmaster or America and what do they sound like? As opposed to beating my baffle(s)

I have a pair of the long ones on my 04 Speedy. They sound good. They are a little quiet but liven up if you get on the gas. They are not loud by any stretch but offer a compromise between stock to most after market options.

I basically agree with Bill, although mine (long slash-cut TORS) got a bit louder on my 07 SM with the TPUSA 813 cams. I like mine.

Short TORs I have didn't seem much louder than stock to me but did have a better sound. I have the straight through style. Bottom line is I didn't like them and run gutted stock pipes now.

Short TORs are very mellow. They wake up a little if you do the "Freak" kit or pull the snorkle out of the airbox and use a K&N or UNI replacement filter. This year I tried drilling two baffles out of my stock pipes and they sounded better. Not as good as most aftermarket pipes I've heard, but I think they sound better than the TORs. And drilling your stockers is a whole lot cheaper.

I run the short tapered TORS. They're not loud but do wake up under acceleration... you can hear the roll on from the throttle. Are they great? No. They are... better than stock. Not the best investment if you want to improve the note and/or performance.

Thanks they sound ok to me someone has a set with only one week on them he found them too loud. For my neighbours the hardware store sells ear plugs by the bag full.

No one will need earplugs, I assure you. But if you can pick up an almost new set for a used price, then why not. Much better than stock!

SMJoe, I've got the long TOR's, and I really like the sound. Definitely better than stock IMO, and louder too, but not too loud. When my bike was in for service, I saw the tech take it for a test ride, and they sounded great from that angle.

I have the short, tapered TORs. I think they sound great. I'm not a fan of loud pipes, so I wanted something fairly mellow. These pipes have a nice deep growl that's definitely "there" but not going to rip anyone's eardrums out.

I have the short TORS. They sounded about as loud as a sewing machine, so I gutted out the baffles and now they're pretty decent.

The long TORS compared to the stock mufflers on my 07 SM are great. Since then I have drilled some holes in the last baffle to get some more sound and I am on the right track. It is getting better and better. Throaty and rumbling at idle, throbbing and exciting at WOT and comfortable at cruising speed.
