here are a few pic's of a single wheel trailer i made ....I copied what another company makes..I made this one under 500 bucks U.S.A ..took it for 4 diffrent tests rides each one longer then the last ..working just like it should I will post more pic's when I get the light's on it and show some more detail when it done later this weekend
what great about it...it will work on the TBA also...

the box on it is made by rubbermaid and it's called a ActionPacker cargo box..comes in size's from 8 gal to 48 gal .. I went with the 48 gal ...I looked at the 35 gal but thought it was better to go big and down size later if I need to ...

Dang Ed...that looks incredible and very well made. I'm impressed with your skills for sure.
How is it going around turns? I'm curious how it effects the handling...

That is a brilliant job mate

been looking at one myself but never thought of making one.

Some info on here for you from a UK firm who are dveloping a neat mono wheel.
Worth a look to give you some ideas and answers the questions about how it handles.
Good job

You're a talented guy Ed, but the real test will be -- Can Miss Vicki fit in there to get an in-transit nap?

Common buckster, you have seen Missus Vickie, she'll fit easily in there. Hopefully Ed remembered a few airholes for her...or not???

Very neat. I'm starting to see a lot of these single wheel trailers. What is the advantage over the two wheel, single axle bike trailers?

Well done! Looks like that could really extend your range. What do you plan to put in there?

Good quality videos Ed. If I can make just one suggestion, I think maybe if you get in the rain the lid may not be water tight and the rear tire might throw some water up in there. Maybe you can fashion a small fender for behind the wheel attached to the trailer yoke and keep it a little protected.

Great job! I have a question regarding the mounting pins. It looks as if you welded a bolt to the axle itself, if so how do you pull the axle through the hub to change your tire? If not, how the heck did you do that?

TIA

The camera man needs to STOP FRIGGIN WALKING in the second video.

Otherwise, brilliant setup for a trailer. I agree with Dave--I have a couple of those action packers and while I've never towed one behind a bike in the rain, I'd have some concern about their water-tightness.

Nice. Just a tad bit longer and replace the ActionPacker with a coffin and you'll really have waterproof storage.

That really is a nice set up there Ed... real nice. And then I got to thinking about your set up vs something with a mid mounted wheel or wheels. Of course the dynamics would be different with a mid-mount, but there would be less weight on the rear axle.

Just thinking out loud here....

I put weather strip tape "auto" to help keep the water out..

it's a piece of threaded rod ..that goes throught the axle and the pin's are like nut's that thread on to the threaded rod..
so it very easy to remove..

I am sure that that set up could be made..

but it would also make the trailer heavy to one the used the rear axle...

well we did our first road trip with the trailer "600 miles" and I must say ..it handle on the highway great.... ran at speed of 80mph most of the time got up to 95mph a couple times ..it ran strait and true behind the bike .. we had a 5 man tent, 2 sleeping bags,blankets,2 military cots,2 pillows, a lantern.a stove burner, tools for camping, 2 propane bottles, rope.power cord, and the fixings for morning Coffey...and it all stayed dry..

Great job there Ed

And since others have, I'll make a suggestion too:

Did you consider maybe using a scooter tire? It's designed to lean like a motorcycle tire. Should be available in a size that'll work.

I must say Ed, I am really impressed! Your first 600 mile road trip is testament to the success of your creation. I'm now thinking the Trophy (Guinevere) is up to the task of pulling something like that from camp to camp, wherever I go.

Oh, and btw... thanks for all those great links to sites with more ideas on the same theme! I must say your posts here have stirred an interest in a similar setup for me and mine.

yes i did...but in the end went with a regler trailer tire 5 hole ..for it is very easy to get one on the road if should need a new one.. they sell them every where.. walmart, lows.,home depo, centrail tractor,..and it's cheap you can get a new one on the rim for about $45 buck..and so far this style tire is leaning great...
