I haven't experienced any BAD regarding lowering my BA, but would recommend lowering both the front and the rear and not just the rear alone. The added benefit of, for example, lowing the front end with (say) Progressives lowering kit (front springs) is the reduction in front end dive when braking. Your lean angle will decrease a bit, but this hasn't caused me any problems as I am not a knee dragger anyway. I haven't experienced any handling issues either. I lowered the front and rear between 1 1/2" - 2". I'm also sitting about an inch lower with the Corbin saddle. (Me likey)

I know that Great Bay Cycle in North Hampton, NH has done this many times. As Jaymo said they recommend doing front and back. You'll also have to replace your kickstand. I believe they sell a replacement on their website.

I lowered the back of my America with Progressive suspension (412's I think they're called)....WAY better handling when hitting bumps or dips in the road. Honestly can't think of any bad that came out of it...plus it makes the bike look better too, esp. when you're sitting on it, it really drops that back fender down on the tire.

Ahem...I seem to recall an incedent around Middlesex. Reminds me of the Paul Simon song, "Slip slidding away.."
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Hey Lee,
Did you lower the front also? How much lower did you go in the rear? Thinking about starting with the rear on my BA.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger......and then it hit me.

You should be able to get both ends taken care of at: www.bikebandit.comor www.mawonline.comProgressive suspension makes a lowering kit for the front, and I'm taking a stab that they also make lowered rear shocks, both of which are available through the two links.
