Folks:
I have my cars and home insured via Allstate and have been with them for nearly 30 years. When I got my bike, my agent, who rode a Goldwing, advised me to insure thru Harley-Davidson Insurance as Allstate couldn't compete with their brokered rates. HD had me with Foremost, than, when I added my '66, they swtiched me to Progressive. My Progressive rate has been steadily inching up every year and last year it was $340 for both bikes.
A few weeks ago, my Allstate agent (agency sold, new agent)said she knew I had some bikes and asked to give a competitive quote. I was very skeptical and almost blew her off, but I shared my coverages thru Progressive with her. I was shocked to get back a $181/year quote for both bikes with the same coverages. Obviously I jumped at this. Allstate has been heavily promoting their motorcycle insurance and have apparently decided they better be competitive. If you have multiple policies with Allstate, you might want to check them out.

Al,
I use maryland cycle direct.
they have great rates.
I have allstate for my cars.
allstate did not offer motorcycle insurance when I got my first bike in 2000.
they had recently done some changes and stopped all motorcycle insurance and raised alot of their rates.
when I got my second house their home owners was a bit high at the time so I went with nationwide.
they have since started motorcycle insurance and lower many of their rates.

Idon't want to be a "wet blanket" here.but i had "progressive bike ins".They started me out this way, rates quite low compared to everyone else. Then the next year,...... it sarted inching its way upward.........
...........My 04 America is $226.00 a year. Both these bikes are in the pleasure touring group rating, you tell me what the difference is?Thats the cheapest yearly quote i could get!

again break a leg .

No wet blanket - Progressive customers should get some competitive quotes. Wow, so I pay $40 less per year for two bikes than you do for one? I guess it pays to be old and live in a rural area...

Yeah, but it's not like that didn't already happen with Progressive. The upside is with Allstate, this particular agent has all of my business (home, four cars, two bikes) and I can hold her feet to the fire. If it doesn't work, guess I'll go shopping. Stay tuned!

After what "the good hands" did to me in Florida, I have nothing but bad things to say about them. Needless to say, I didn't get kissed...

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?

It is a matter of over insured or under insured , relates directly, to what you have insured; with them and most of all..........your driving record. They are all "bottom feeders" to my way of thinking.

And regarding homeowner's Insurance try Mike Gettus (Felichia Insurance) in Melbourne at 254-0095 ext 101.
