So I have got an '02 that had Sceptres on it since I bought it a couple years ago. The previous owner said the carb work was done when he put the pipes on. I am assuming the 122 main and 45 pilot that Sceptre provides. Seems to run pretty well but I don't have any comparisons. I am planing on doing a Uni filter and Polaris bellmouth combo this summer.
Here are my options....
I am thinking about 130 mains but do I leave the 45 pilots in or should I drop down to the 42's, use that as my base line and work up from there?

So you still have the stock snorkle and air filter on the bike? If you pull the snorkle and replace it with a Uni filter, you can probably leave the 45 pilots in place and you may need to go up to a 135 main based on what others with similar setups are running.

Yup, still running stock snorkle and filter.
I was working off of the jetting calculator for the 130. So maybe I can still go bigger?

Uncle Charlie has Bub pipes and I believe a uni filter and runs 135 main jets. Your setup (once the snorkle is pulled and uni installed) sounds similar, so yes possibly. Once you uncork those earlier 790 bikes, they realy breathe well. You might try a 45 pilot jet, 135 main and a shim under the stock needle.

I have a 2007 865 motor with uni POD filters and am only running 135 main jets right now. Most 790 guys with dual pod filters can run a 150 main jet or better. Not so much for the 865 motors.

I did see that on the dyno chart. I would be very happy if I could approximate his numbers.
