I have mixed feelings about these bars. I guess I look at them like those plastic covers Aunt Betty had on her furniture - They look like hell, but, one spill and they're worth it. I guess it depends on how strongly you feel about damage control.

Bottom mounting points look flimsy. I wonder if it's really meant to be functional (the crash part) or just dressy. Racedweeb, if you're watching, I don't suppose you tried dropping a bike with these on? I wouldn't expect them to hold up under all conditions, but I would expect them to save my paint if I dropped my bike.

maybe you don't need a kickstand with them? Just kidding.
I would like to see a picture of them on a bike before I shell out the money.

Definitely increases the Harley "bagger" look.

Look at the photo on the Bellacorse again. I installed mine Saturday morning and emailed Mike a photo of them on the bike. It's on his website now. They fit like a glove. I had the Triumph Engine Guards and removed them. I will sell them for $100, including shipping.

For the record I think they LOOK a lot better than the Ma's cycles crash bars (I think the Triumph bars, which I have, are not true crash bars). I've seen the Ma's bars in person on Freedom's bike. I think the 1.5" tubing on the Bellacorse crash bars helps a lot.

I want to know if they are gonna fit with my floor boards
and I would like to put some highway pegs on (kicked back cruiser) I think they would compliment my bb reproduction bags and yes as most would say the harley bagger or cruiser type. I picked triumph for reputation and reliability and
affordability.(IS THAT EVEN A WORD) So what I do to it is cause it is what I like and my style. If it looks like a harley so be it but I can tell you where I live nobody has a triumph like mine. With all that being said I still want to see a picture If somebody sees the picture please post the link.

Awesome I had to refresh my own link they look great.
Now for the questions.
Are they going to fit with floorboards(triumph)?
What do they actually bolt to on bottom and top?
They do dress the bike up nicely compliment them with
pegs and you have a highway rider.I like them but I have to buy some misc. stuff first.

I have just installed them on my 05 Speedmaster. I put them on in order to attach some highway pegs so as to give me a comfortable position for my feet on longer trips.
They mount under the horn bolt at the top. On the bottom they mount to the lower bolt hole ( once you remove the bolt that came with the bike) via a longer bolt to the lower hole of two holes which hold the foot controls in place. It will require a spacer on each bolt unless the mfg. makes the narrow chrome tube longer. I test rode it to check for vibration and rattles, there were none. Now my next task is finding some h'way pegs that will allow my feet/legs to be comfortable.

I'm thinking about adding highway pegs. I've already been pricing them, and I would get Kurakyn pegs, to match my other pegs.

N8Gould, It does not look to me as if the bars and footboards would match up.
I'll call Mike at Bellacores and inquire first.

so it is either boards or crash bars? now I love my boards
heck the other day I was pulling out of my rock driveway it had rained rear tire sunk in rocks and dirt. bike fell over to left and the floor board saved the bike from scratching paint just a couple scraps on exhaust nothing some polishing won't cure.

Crash bar is the wrong term. It should be Tip Over Bar.

Here's an observation, the way they look in the pictures, if you put it down and they bent, they might take out your header as the direction of bars bending most often will be rear-ward.

If you look at Triumph bars if they bend they will likely not hit the pipes. Maybe they are tough enough not to bend, but that is an area I would be concerned about and the mounting brackets as noted by others look pretty flimsy, if they let go, it will hit your pipes.
Just a thought.

Well howdy neighbor. I live in Knoxville, guess we'll need to hook up and do some riding. I'll be after Chy soon to make a Cherohala run. Drop me a line sometime if you are so inclined and we'll get together.
I KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO THE '06 GEORGIA RALLY, RIGHT!

If the weather continues to be as warm as it has been for the past couple weeks, we might be riding soon! I plan to go to the GA Rally this year. I still regret not going last year.

How is toe/foot clearance from the bar? I like the bars, but its hard to tell from the photo if my big #12s will rub against them.

TL, I took a spin Sunday. I met a gentlemen (James) on the Foothills Parkway riding a 2002 Red BA. Said he lived in Blount county. I told him about the site and the GA Rally.
He mentioned he saw a Blue America earlier in the day on the parkway.Would that have been you? What color is your bike?
Man this things are popping up like wild flowers.

I'm with Friar John on this one. They are about the best looking bars that I've seen for our bikes.

But I've a few reservations about 'em.

First...I'm wondering if the outside bottom bend is high enough so that you wouldn't ground them(especially on a left-hand sweeper) and thus maybe lift the front wheel mid-turn.(oh...I don't want to even think about that happening)

Secondly...I've yet to see any rear bars made for our bikes, in order to save the saddlebags in case of a spill. I've always thought that if you put only front crashbars on a bike it looks a bit...incomplete, as a dresser.

Thirdly...I wonder how these bars would affect the time-honored tradition of lane-splitting that saves so much time commuting here in SoCal.

Dwight

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
