Hi All Has any one fitted or tried the QPD belt drive conversion kits on their america or speedmaster. I have been looking around but dont seem to be able to get much info on them. Any feed back would be welcome. Thanks John

I have one and have had it on for about 6 years and love it. But they are really hard to get too. I'm not even sure they are still available. Ozzie, the guy making them, was getting up in his years and pretty much made them one off at a time. Maybe Brent at Newspeedmaster still has one kicking around.
I have only had to change the belt once and that was because I got a rock stuck in it and chewed up about a foot of teeth off the thing.
Kind of a PITA to swap out, but once you pull the swingarm off once or twice, it gets faster. I could probably swap the belt out in about an hour/ using the tricks I learned.
Installing the QPD belt drive kit.

YMMV. Most people don't have the problems I did with the belt drive kit.

Way too much gravel and stuff around my neck of the woods for belt system. I have some mates with them (non Triumphs) they don’t seem to last long before some tar or some stones gets in there and makes a mess. Ok if you are riding on Concrete I guess.

I am not a belt drive fan for several reasons but each to their own. I like the fact I can put my chain back together if it breaks along the road. I also like the short time it takes to change a chain and not only do I not have to take the swing arm off but I can even do it with the sprocket cover in place if not removing the front sprocket.

I am seeing alot of people turned away from the belt drive by Frier's one write up. There are others that like their belt drives and have gotten good milage from them. Brent at Newspeedmaster has advised to wait for the kit from Scootworks as service has been very slow from QPD. Mind you Scootworks has had their's in testing for how long? I would install one if available.

I can't recall anyone else having problems with the belt drive kit, certainly not the same problems. But the high cost plus the sketchiness of Ozzie's production schedule is enough to turn me off, even without my experiences.
