Thinking about ordering the Tsuyaku Strong Hard Bags (not jumbo) for my TBA. They look rather large and I'm wondering if they would be in the way a bit for a passenger or if that is not an issue. Thanks in advance for any info/experiences.. Rich

Rich "in the way a bit" - that's a little hard to quantify. I have not mounted mine yet, but I can tell you it is going to be close - they are a good size. It looks like the front of them will be following the shock's line, just a little back and out (using Easy Brackets).
That means the pasengers leg will actually kind of bend around them. How much of an issue that is I think is going to depend on the passenger. My better half said she didn't think it would be a problem, but I really can't see her going for a ride where we couldn't leave them off at home.
If I get them mounted soon I'll post pictures, assuming nobody else does.

I've seen them on several America's. Look and fit real well. As for the pillion, New Bonneville has a passenger peg relocater that works wonders. Kind of $$$$ but if it keeps the bride happy....... As a bonus it provides a great second position for the driver on longer rides.

Rich, I would have to say that if you still have the factory rear peg hangers, she probably won't like them much. Relocating the pegs will be something you need to end up doing, and I think she'll be more comfortable after you do. Click my "All America" link below and you can see my setup.

+1; rear peg relocation is really a requirement for 2-up with the Tsukayu Strong bags, IMO.
I ride solo & the rear peg mounts are off on mine & solo finishers are on.

Thanks for all the replies and info, sounds like I will be getting the rear peg relocators as well.

I've got mine mounted now, and we went for a ride - she agrees now. She would like the peg relocated, or to have me just take off the bags when she rides (that's what Easy Brackets are for). The hinge hits right in the back of her calf, and she is not as firmly on the pegs.

Thanks for the update, confirms my suspicions. Really kicks up the price of adding hardbags though, especially since I don't want the black ones and the one color match is another $350....

Rich, I got mine from Brent in grey primer and had a buddy spray them for me, cut 100 bucks off the cost if I remember right, maybe more. You should be able to get a shop to spray them for much less than $350. The other advantage to primer was that I could mount the bags, put my wife on and have her tall me they need to go lower, and then I could just drill new holes and fill the old with fiberglass and prime and paint and done.

How is the set up with the easy brackets? I was thinking about doing the same but thought the bags might stick out a little too far. Do you have pics??

Oh, Gee, show off my baby ? I don't know.....

I don't think they stick out too far, but obviously that is a matter of taste.
I've got tear drop taillights that I'm going to put on them with a disconnect, but I think I'm going to have someone else do the wiring.

Of course it is slightly ridiculous that I now have as many keys (4) for this one bike as I do fro the other three vehicles (truck has a locking bed cover) combined....

at least here you can see both options and decide for yourself with easy brackets without my turn signal stems are much shorter than stock also

Looks fine with or without the easy brackets. I already have a set with my current set of bags so I'll just transfer them over. Thanks for posting the picks.

About passenger, I moved the rear footpeg forward : Otherwise the foot peg is under the bag and it's not confortable for the passenger. You can see my bags here : My strong bags
