Pretty amazing pix.
I heard a radio show do a summary of Euro and US newscasters trying to pronounce that name, pretty funny.
I think those folks are going to need to change their air cleaners and do an oil change a lot sooner than normal...

The lightning is just fantastic, logical if one thinks about the friction but just awesome. Just back from San Francisco where we met Brits not so impressed by the fact they were stuck there for a few extra days...I would have been happy to call my boss with such a good excuse.

Yeah, well, I personally ain't wonderin' how ya pronounce that!

Nope! What I'M wonderin' is if those Icelanders might'a run out of virgins to sacrifice so this kind'a thing wouldn't have happened in the first place???!!!

(I mean, COME ON...wouldn't ya think just ONE virgin would'a been worth all this trouble the airlines ALONE have been goin' through all this time...HUH?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Eyjafjallajökull

(Don't know how that Italian accent got there )

Ummmmm...well Bill, my guess is you must've recently watched that old Marx Brothers flick, "A Night in Reykjavik" on TCM, where Chico goes on and on about how much colder his "tootsy-frootsy ice-a-cream" is on that volcanic island nation!

(...but THATS'A just'a a guess'a here, you'a see!)

I personally can't wait for Katla to go! She's going to make the "unpronounceable volcano" look like a popcorn fart.

Had to look it up. Interesting:

"In the past 1,000 years, all three known eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull have triggered subsequent Katla eruptions."

Whoe... sounds like it's not over yet. Hey, I found a video which clearly recorded visible shockwaves from the eruption of the Unpronounceable. Amazing stuff!
