Today was one of those friggin days! You know, when everything feels WRONG! Woke up this morning in a bitching killer mood. Stayed with me even after 2 cups of coffee. Took my time, finally, we decided to go for a motorbike ride. Halfway thru, just as we get into the mountain twisties, there was one of those flatbed truck that carries the beer or rice wine that dropped hundreds of those plastic boxes with booze in it. There was glass everywhere, the police and cleaning squad was there, and so was the smell! Started feeling mellow just from the fumes! 20 min later, mafia boy in his sport car decided to play with us and "faked" hitting me for well over 1 km... I was at the threshold of losing it completely... but I know what it means here, mess up one mafia boy and then you have 25 waiting for you the next day. Finally, he got bored and sped away... Another 20 min later, this 18-wheeler decided it was plow time and almost squashed us like a cockroach on the road. We were at a red light, and this guy was coming from behind and had no intention of stopping at the red light. i had to take off way before it turned green otherwise, we would have been roadkill. Racing 18-wheeler against a motionless Triumph motorbike, the odds are not in my favor. But, acceleration wise, I smoked him, flipped the major finger and never looked back! On our way back, we passed this car that started smoking on the road... and caught fire! Good thing they were meters away from a fire station! They rushed out of the car and the situation was quickly under control... but that was it for me. I left the main road, crawled back home, parked the bike and opened a nice cold beer on my new wooden deck and decided not to move from there until tomorrow It's just one of those days....

Wow... now there's a day with more than it's share of intensity! But you know, ya got back home safely... that's the important thing. Hangin' on the deck with some cold ones is about the wisest thing you could do after all that. Again, just glad you are safe. He11 of a story though!!

So Jeff...what brand of beer was it???
Interestingly, it was a Budweiser! or should I say a few of them! My local supermarket started to have them in cans lately. Which is a nice change because the choices were limited to Taiwan beer (which tastes like formaldehyde) or their "Gold Label" version, which gives me muscle sores the next day! We've also had Heinekens but I am a bit fed up drinking that. No microbreweries around here!
I might do this mod to my bike, it would keep those retarded drivers at bay... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UNr1XClnec&feature=player_embedded

Jeff, Can you legally home-brew beer in Taiwan? The average 72 degree temps put you in position to brew ales...give it some thought! Cheers!

Flame throwers are for girly scooters. What suits our bikes is some sort of electro-magnetic pulse which will frazzle every electronic component for say 300 yards Now all I've got to do is invent one, and figure out a way to protect the electronics on my bike

I think a friend tried a couple of years ago. The result was far from stellar. The problem lies with the availability of choice ingredients... or the lack of. Cereals are not on the menu here! Rice beer anyone?
But you've given me something to think about... I will look into it. Thanks!

And ya know, when I lived in Zimbabwe... well, we were just there adjacent to South Africa. I heard of cars in Johannesburg having flame throwers in their running boards. Oh yeah, when them would-be thieves swarmed a car at a stop light, the driver could hit a switch and well... toast the buggers. Jo-burg is a pretty scary place.

This aughta do the job.... Yes, it's real. After WWII, during the recovery, the French combined war surplus 75MM recoiless rifle with $500 Vespa scooters as low cost tanks.
