Well Im new to the forum, and I have been lurking a while. This is my ongoing project and would like some opinions as I go. Ill try to post updates as I go. Here is the skinny The first pictures are from when I bought the bike semi-complete. The bike was a real rat rod ie no signals, front brake, or speedo, and ungodly loud pipes. SO i blew it up and have been modding since. The bike is a 2005 BA with 1500 miles. the triples and the forks are off a rocket 3 with a harley rear wheel as the front 160 series. I have a 4 pot rocket caliper with a bracket to accommodate a harley rotor. All harley rotors are 11.5 inches and wouldnt work. I found a 13.25 inch rotor for a harley and it will fit, but I have no idea what it is off of so I can buy a back up. I have an acewell speedo Im working on, and just ordered some 6 inch risers and 30 inch draq bars. I just made the baffles the other day and have not fired it up yet any thoughts on those? My paint is a flat ceramic gunmetal grey with a flat black stripe. Im going for a fighter plane look and will put nose art decals on when im done. any thoughts or concerns would be great thanks!!!

Wow Phil, I'm not usually that into the "Rat Bike" look, but man, this one o' yours here is lookin' mighty good to me!!!

('cept, what's with the still shiny sidecover there?...it looks a little out-of-place, what with all the flat colored surfaces ya got on that beauty!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Since I cant hear it, I dont have any thoughts about your baffles. But I like the fishtails. If it is too loud, you can get some generic 1 3/4" baffles to stick in the pipes.

The 2 things I liked about that bike were the long fishtails and the R3 front end. J&P Cycles has a selection of baffles that would fit in there. Many other companies carry them too. Any place that carries V Twin and CC and Drag Specialties stuff will have some or can order them.

the problem is that the header outlet is 1 3/8 the fishtails slide over the header pipe then the pipe expands all the way to the end. I can't think of a way to put a baffle anywhere else except where I have it the smallest baffle I have seen is 1 3/4. So if they are to loud I'll wrap then and wire tie it.

what kind of rear fender was used . Is that a HD strutless? It's exactly what I would like to do to my bike.

If they are stock headers, then they are 1 3/4" pipes. The baffles should just slide in the exhaust pipes. Most baffles have a hole so you can secure them with a bolt. What I did with my fishtails is put a baffle (8" long) in the end of pipe (close to the fishtail) then I put a couple pads of steel wool to muffle the sound a bit more.
