My speedometer is making a grinding noise at very low speeds , and when rolling the bike backwards. Does anyone know of a fix ?

The easiest place to start is to inspect and lube the cable.

Yes I do, mine did the same and it’s annoying.

Did you remove the cable for a reason?
It’s hard to know what’s wrong without knowing that. I am going to assume you removed the cable.
If you did was it from the top or bottom (or both)?

The real key to getting rid of the noise is to make sure the cable is seated at the connections correctly top and bottom. The cable fitts just so, if its not quite seated correctly you will get that noise.
You should first loosen the knurled connector from the back of the speedo a little, it’s easy to overtigten and this was the source of my noise. Then try lubing the cable. Lastly, put grease on the gears on the back of the speedo. If you remove that knurled connection from the back of the speedo you can see the gears and you will be able to lube the cable from the top.

I did not remove the cable . I think the noise is coming from the top.

Try loosening the knurled conector behind the speedo just a little(1/4 turn) .Do that before you do any thing else, see if that helps. If it dosnt then remove the cable from the top and lube the cable.I wouldnt use WD40,use a cable lube.Lastly grease the blue gears on the back of the speedo.
